« very good material »
Published on 06/05/10 at 13:59pre-amp tube, transistor +
2 channels: 1 clean + 1 disto each modular 2 positions
power 80 watts
You can set a sound to a clear distortion through a crunch sound, so polyvalant.
adjusting the reverb, effects loop with the possibility to use the "return" for standalone use only the HP
UTILIZATION
ease of use so disconcerting is simple! is connected and voila! the switch to switch from clean to distortion. we can easily adjust bass, mid and treble for each channel.
we get good sound even without a pedal for use summary when you start with an amp
SOUNDS
I was using a distortion pedal and chorus at the beginning and it was perfect. and bumps on the mainstage of logical pro, I now use the "return" so I do all my settings from mainstage, so no action on the amp. I use a peavey duplicate any lamp coupled with a Marshall 4X12 Celestion.
Valvestate 8080 is the perfect guitar with warm grain. I have a Gibson Epiphone nightawk and the combination is amazing. in contrast with my signature fender tele joh strummer, it lacks some of the low blow is lacking a little chest!
respect to the distortion, it lacks too much power at once we must add a pedal.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 15 years, it passed into the hands of electronics several times. the knobs are capricious, the lamp for the distortion is too capricious. the beast is alive and well if we play with it often. if we play some do not hesitate to turn the knobs regularly.
value for the price of the machine is very good, now we must try it before buying it because depending on the treatment of the old user may be surprised.
I had a Marshall Valvestate 100 watt combo but I was not satisfied, the distortion was much less potato was a crunch at most, and the effects loop does not allow the use of self " return "
anyway this amp is very robust, easily transportable (I added casters) suitable for rehearsals and concerts in the cellar and bar, but also for large scenes with a cover. no longer suitable for stage lol.
