The MFB-Polylite is a synthesis module 4 voice controll via MIDI.
Each of the four parts has 3 oscillators, one low-pass filter 24 dB (VCF) and an amplifier (VCA).
Polylite has 100 memory areas for immdiat recall parameters (except the Gnral agreement).
The edition is via MIDI control via the free editor or better from a Synth Lite II because Polylite has no way to directly control.

The two oscillators can provide a sawtooth wave (enhanced version) or a square wave. The OSC 1 has ring modulation and OSC 2 of a pulse. The wave of OSC 2 can be realigned on OSC 1 (hard sync).

The agreement can be selected from 4 ', 8' or 16 ', with a dsaccord CSO 2 of plus or minus one octave.

The Polylite is a plastic box without potentiometers that features a hybrid synthesizer analog / digital (oscillators digital / analog filter 24 dB) with 4 voice polyphony.

It has a mono output, a mono input, one MIDI input and output in 5-pin DIN which, using an adapter, can separate the output of the 4 oscillators.

Since it is without controls, it must be edited via MIDI, either with software or with any MIDI controller configured correctly.

It features 99 user memories for storing presets.

UTILIZATION

Obviously, the use is anything but intuitive because the stakes of this machine is to provide a semi-polyphonic analog to a floor price. So the whole interface has been sacrificed.

The machine comes with a manual more than short ... But anyone accustomed to the synthesis find it very quickly, once you've set up a score of knobs on your preferred controller, the editing is done quickly and easily.

SOUNDS

The sound is very warm but not aggressive. The digital oscillators give her a little lofi to the bike, there is the matter and it makes all the difference. The machine is a bit rather weak in the bass but that's not what we asked.

Do not expect a range of sound that could have a digital synthesizer, on the other hand, the Polylite has a warmth I can not get my Virus. You can hear the subtle imperfections sound that gives it a decidedly vintage character.

The filter is very effective without being aggressive. It fits easily into self-oscillation for some nice bleeps.

OVERALL OPINION

I tried a few analog polyphonic, but between their size and price, nothing was the right solution for my use.
Even if my Access Virus gives me satisfaction, there are things that digital can not reproduce ... That is why the Polylite seems to be an ideal companion. Compact set in the middle of a longer included, it marries well with his playmates
I highly recommend this machine for traveling musicians who are looking for sounds that have character and want to warm up their set. The pair well with a mono chubby (Moog Little Phatty, Waldorf Pulse) gives excellent results.
