Ibanez launches the Iron Label Series
Ibanez introduced at NAMM the new Iron Label Series, with seven 6, 7 and 8-string guitars based on the S and RG Series.
Designed for metal guitar players, the Ibanez Iron Label series are equipped with DiMarzio (on S models) and EMG pickups (on RG guitars). All the models include a Gibraltar bridge, and 6 and 7-string guitars have a 3-piece maple and bubinga neck. Two RG instruments are also available with an Edge-Zero II Tremolo system. Hardware and finish are black on every guitar (Black or Iron Pewter).
6-string instruments include the RGIR20FE with basswood body, Nitro Wizard maple/bubinga neck, rosewood fingerboard, EMG 60 (neck) and 81 (bridge) pickups and a Kill Switch. Scale length is 25.5" and nut width is 43mm. A white finish version is available for this model.
The SIR70FD has the same specifications as the RG, except for the mahogany body and the pickups which are DiMarzio Air Norton (neck) and Tone Zone (bridge) humbuckers and a True Velvet single coil in the middle position.
Last 6-string model of the Iron Label series, the RGIR20E is similar to the first RG, but the bridge is an Edge-Zero II Tremolo system. Pickups are EMG 60 and 81. A white finish is also available for this guitar.
Three seven-string guitars are also included in the Iron Label Series. The RGIR27FE, just like the 6-string guitar, has a basswood body, a Nitro Wizard-7 maple and bubinga neck, rosewood fingerboard with jumbo frets. Scale length is 25.5" and nut width is 48mm. This model is equipped with two EMG 707 pickups and a kill switch.
The SIR27FD, like its 6-string sibling, has a mahogany body, maple/bubinga neck and rosewood fingerboard, but the pickups here are two DiMarzio PAF 7. Scale length is 25.5" and nut width is 48mm.
RGIR27E is the 7-string RG version with Edge-Zero II Tremolo system. Body is made of basswood, maple/bubinga is used for the neck and two EMG 707 humbuckers are present.
Last model in the Iron Label Series, the RGIR28FE is an 8-string guitar with basswood body, Nitro Wizard-8 five-piece maple and walnut neck with KTS Titanium rods, two EMG 808 humbucker pickups and a kill switch. Scale length on this model is 27" and nut width is 55mm.
