At first I wanted a card to enter a microphone and a guitar and out of a speaker system, so two I / O TRS. A MIDI function. Originally the home studio, this card has been clean at all (I use it live now!) Pc: Gigabyte 7N400 Pro2 Athlon XP2600 +, 1GB Ram DDR2700, a Seagate HD 120 GB, HD Western Digital 40 GB Now I use a console broadcast Mitec Studio Server 16 where I can add 16 channels plus 16 insert effects simultaneously, the outputs are in the master out (left / right) XLR but no problem since I bought two adapters XLR / Jack balanced returning within two in the MIA, and then I go out with the two balanced outputs from the card to the speakers. 2nd config: I leave the MIA with a TRS into a track of the console and I connect the master out of the speakers Fostex PM1.

UTILIZATION

Little compatibility issue with XP quickly resolved after a ride on the Echo website where I downloaded the appropriate driver. No conflict to date. Config is the child given the number of virtual tracks available. Not read the manual.

GETTING STARTED

The drivers are super stable over time compared to others who regularly jump for a yes or a no. I use Cubase SX2, Reason 3 and Live plus some synths. Latency of only 10 ms (closer to 5 ms, in fact). I can record a dozen tracks of simultaneous Mitec through the console. When reading, it depends on the plug ins used, as always. But that would further the ability of the CPU quà else.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year. Map extremely reliable, no external rack but in fact I tape a bit since I console ... I tried Digidesign and MOTU cards, fine, but too expensive. Quality / price ratio: EXCEPTIONAL. I would do without hesitation that choice in the future and I recommend it to all home studio penniless.
