« Not something I wanted to keep »

The Yamaha EZ-220 is a lighted keyboard to help guide through the playing process or learning process. I love using this keyboard with my iPad, and it has over 300 instruments and sounds to choose from like pianos, guitars, and brass sounds. Most of the sounds are just decent though and cannot compare to a higher end keyboards sounds.

UTILIZATION

The keys feel pretty good for the price but it still feels like a beginner’s keyboard though because of the build of the keyboard and small selection of sounds. Plus most keyboards that have the “light up keys” function to help with playing are geared more toward beginners.

OVERALL OPINION

There are some effects on this keyboard but nothing out of the ordinary for a keyboard in this price range. The speakers on board on not very good and do not do the sounds any justice because the low frequencies really are not full enough to get the best possible sound out of the bass instruments on the EZ-220. It does not come with a power supply but it gets its power from the connection to your computer or iPad.
I do not recommend getting this unless you are a true beginner and want to learn to play. If you are looking for a portable keyboard this is not it, because it is a lot bigger than any portable keyboard that I like using and the keys do not feel as good as some of the portable USB keyboards that have used in the past. The only plus with it is that it has 100 presets accompany styles to play along with and a wireless connectivity to an ipad app that you can get for free after you purchase this keyboard. The app is made by Page Turner via Yamaha. This is the only feature that makes this keyboard appealing.
