OVERALL OPINION
I use this microphone for a month, both for its decision to an upright piano, for voice (for vocoder), the output keyboard amp .. Indoors only
What I like about this microphone is the price first, and its sensitivity condenser microphone ..
In using that I (see preceding paragraph), it suits me very well.
I do not expect a resolution and fidelity insane and I'm very happy.
On a more technical point of view, I would say it has an excellent spectrum to the medium, but came to A4-C5 (4-5th octave of my piano), I have an impression of a tin register in an aquarium ... this amounts to a more muffled lack of depth in the high frequencies ...
However, the dynamic and breath are quite amazing, not too grainy or too present ..
I think some neutrality.
A further cut is the selector tape (low freq) and the very opera-20dB attenuator.
In conclusion: Do not expect a TLM50 is not a microphone that comp performance but comp use and range of use ... a very affordable price for a static.
I may be of invest 50 € more for the Perception220 overcomes these acute that I miss.
