Large diaphragm condenser microphone.
Weight requires a foot well built but the suspension does its job effectively.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for a little over a month, connected (as are others I've used) Behringer MIC100 preamp on.
I have used before and one MXL900 APEX435, an AT2020 (USB). I have not compared in a very scientific results, but I found a more "neutral" on the AKG than other, less brilliant than APEX and much more directive. I use it for decision-acoustic folk guitar and I find it works wonders. For voice, I have not tested much, nor taken for flute (for which I use a Beyerdynamic MCE530 which suits me fine).
