FET amp, custom output transformer.
3 mini switch: pad, low cut, EQ Normal or Fat
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for years now, and this is my first choice when I'm looking for a "real" sound. This mic is very well balanced in terms of frequencies. Thinner "drooling" q "a U87, a true clarity, without artifacts unlike a AT4033 AKG, this mic is transparent without being lifeless It is natural!
With the switch "FAT" triggered a boost obtained by shelve below 400Hz. Perfect for ... and bin for just about anything if you want to thicken the sound.
The only weak point is that it is very sensitive to sibilance. One can easily get around the problem, either by positioning the microphone, either de-essant later, and suddenly we are left with more than the benefits of this great microphone.
The price seems quite justified, one enjoys the experience of David Bock, an expert in terms of micro. The sound is very "pro".
I would do without hesitation that choice
