« Excellent Micro »
Published on 01/23/11 at 05:00Large capsule condenser microphone transformerless output, 3 directional, pad and low cut.
Based on the versatile features, but more relevant to human voices (sung and spoken), the cons-bass, cello, bass clarinet, and in general instruments with a rather serious and register a limited volume . Micro
OVERALL OPINION
with a colorful rendering of particular relevance in severe male vocals or bass, for example, but that makes it less "fit" with other instruments ... While remaining well above the rest in most cases.
Caution, however the saturation threshold is fairly low (around 110db). And its relative softness in the rendering of transient ... So, avoid or percussive instruments accompany it with a dynamic microphone.
Best used with a good tube preamp.
For me, one of the best quality / price range Neumann (but also one of the least versatile).
