- Made in Japan in February 1990
- 20frets, it's been a little weird when you come from a 24frets, original pickups, fender jazz bass 2
- Bridge "" vintage "" very basic, the easel base on any low-end and low on the fenders! Settings summary of the height of the strings, very basic alignment of the strings!
- 2volumes (a micro) tone
- Handle fairly typical of a late JB apparently, easy to navigate but access to the most acute is not easy, I prefer access to acute on the corvette
- The body is alder, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, that's very basic!
- The finish is very brief, finally, I think, for an instrument!
UTILIZATION
- Handle nice, as said above, very easy to play, admittedly
- Difficult access to acute, it is blocked by the horn lower body, an adjustment period is necessary (but hey, so the acute 20frets is limited ^ ^)
- Good ergonomics, it must still be emphasized, the bass is light, handy, it's really a bass that I find ideal for learning and confirm the technical level, I rather regret not having started on a JB!
- The sound, while a bottom, I get clear sound and deep, its the best neck pickup for me, with excellent grain typical Fender bridge pickup on my model a bit light, say one, it does I hardly find!
(The sound was "JUDGE" AMP WITH A DISH)
SOUNDS
- So it suits my style of music (stoner rock, pop rock)
- AMPEG SVT3PRO void
- I have not been able to play again since its complete dismantling, because opportunity requires, the surprises came from rust, omnipresent on the hardware! Necessity of rewiring, deoxidizing all screws! So I do when a UP will be operational
OVERALL OPINION
- I did that play before going 3/4jours unfortunately account for its deplorable state of repair!
- I wanted a Fender JB because I tried a JB marcus miller (only available in right handed) and I fell in love with the sound it out, then this is not the same as passive, but found some constants such as clarity and consistency of sound, and the typical grain in the lower mids!
- Poor value for money, especially for current models!
- Uh, in retrospect, given the repairs to do it, no I will not repeat that choice, I plan, once back, or to sell (in this case the buyer will be happy, because I ' 'll have redone all the wiring, fittings, basically it will only have to play it ...) or the upgrade, everything will depend on its qualities intrinsece once set correctly ...
UP AFTER 6 months: the time it took me to my decision to invest 150euros for retapper! Equipped SEYMOUR DUNCAN ANTIQUITY II, it sounds really good, a nice dynamic in the lower spectrum short, I keep it, it will be my bass for rock songs and slap me or microphones are really dreaming!
