    Fender American Series Telecaster

Fender American Telecaster LH [2000-2007]Published on 11/02/03 at 15:00
I walked in to a one day sale at American Music in Seattle and got it brand new for $630... the exact color (white) and neck (rosewood) I was looking for... looks like an act of God to me.... YES!!!

The neck, the look, the sound. I've wanted a tele for a long time. I don't use a pick, play blues and some hot rodded bluegrass and this baby has the speed and sound..... eeee.... f#$@in' .....ha

    I didn't find it sooner?

Of all the tele's I've looked at, for me the American Series has the best feel and sound... Playability is #1 with me.

This thing has inspired me to go out and do it.... soul vehicle.... bonzai

I purchased this Tele at Musician's Friend. I paid $649.00 site unseen. The price was $150-$200.00 less than any music store in my area. It was worth the chance and I must admit that Musician's Friend was 1st Class. I received exactly what I ordered with not so much as a scratch.

This Tele is the Hot Rod Red w/Rosewood Fretboard. It came out of the box set up just right. Came with .009"-.042" light super bullets and action and string height are well within tolerances.
Plays very smooth and produces that Tele sound just fine.
It is very well built, well balanced, and All the hardware is tight, smooth, and functions properly.

All the components fit nicely, built and assembled with attention to detail. The finish is superb. It is absolutely flawless.
A+ to Fender for this one.
It is so easy to play. Frets are dressed, neck is fast, and runs are clean.
The electronics are simple but sound great. No noise through my Marshall. No noise through anything.
The two things I like the most about this Tele is the Feel and the Sound.
    It fits, it just fits.

Other than the basic, simple, homely look of a Tele, I really have no dislikes with this one.

The construction is fine. It was built to last. The workmanship on this particular one is outstanding. Everything fits nicely. The cuts and router opennings are clean and tight. The hardware is tight and smooth. Nothing is sloppy. The volume pod has a little vertical play, but other than that everything seems to operate correctly.

    Bottom line...
If you really like a Telecaster, then in my humble opinion, this is a good choice. It was close to perfect right out of the box. The workmanship is excellent, and the hardshell molded Fender case and accessories that come with it are a great perk.
Also, I would not hesitate to order anything from Musician's Friend. The condition of my Tele out of the box (shipped accross many states) was better than any I picked up off the walls at my local music stores. They go out of their way to satisfy their customers.
No one was able to beat their price on this Telecaster. NO ONE !

i bought this guitar at guitar center for about 870$ cuz i was tired of the shit yamaha i had

this guitar is fabulous. its incredibly durable. i accidently droped it at a talant show and it landed on its face and its fine. the sound is incredible . incredibly versitile. i play punk and itle play that beutifully. it also plays clean great. it has a bright tone on the bridge pick up and a softer tone on the neck pickup. it also has a great neck. very playable. not like those thin ass ibanez necks.

the only thing i dont like about this guitar is its reputation. when i got it people made fun of me and told me it was a hic country guitar. BUT FUCK THEM I LOVE IT!

Bought online, from musiciansbuy.com, for $909 - unfortunately about a month before Fender started offering $100 rebates on the American series.
I acquired this guitar mainly because it kicks ass.

First and main reason I love this guitar: the neck is perfect. The edges of the fretboard are hand-rolled to make it silky smooth, and everything else about the neck is perfect for me. Grasping it's neck is like grasping a warm stick of butter.

Second reason: the sound. It sounds incredible clean and incredible distorted (as long as you don't require a humbucker sound). The bridge pickup will make your ears bleed through a Fender Deluxe 90 with the treble up, and the neck pickup is perfec…

Second reason: the sound. It sounds incredible clean and incredible distorted (as long as you don't require a humbucker sound). The bridge pickup will make your ears bleed through a Fender Deluxe 90 with the treble up, and the neck pickup is perfectly warm and mellow. Two great sounds that even sound great together. I rarely combine the two but they still sound good when both are selected.

Third reason: the looks. It has a natural finish and it makes my girlfriend jealous it's so beautiful. It's hard to decide which to spend more time with.

I'm an indie/punker/psychedlic-pop & spacerocker and I think somebody up above made this guitar especially for me. I've had it about 8 months and love it even more now than the day I got it.

What I don't like is... the knob on the pickup selector comes off I flip the switch quickly. Big freakin deal.

    Quality: A+
Construction: seems to be put together very well, everything fits tightly, no gaps or anything. The only adjustment I've made is to put on heavier strings and intonate it.

I love this guitar more than life itself.

I got this guitar as a present from my father, because he didn't use it that much. I think he paid upwards of $900 for this guitar.

I like lots of things about this certin guitar. First when you are playing around or playing a indoor gig you don't get a bunch of feed back. If you know what you are doing you can use the feed back to your advantage. Second it has a very "brite" sound that a lot of guitars don't have. You can also make it have a very "warm, but yet very full" sound. It has a beautiful body that has a sunburst pateren on it front and back.

I like a whole lot about this guitar so I'll keep this part short. Because I have hands a little bit on the smaller side, the neck seems to be a little wide. It's not wide enough that I didn't adapt quickly but it made it an inconveinence at the begining. The only other thing that I don't like is that on the bottom left side of the body doesn't have a reverse cut, so after a long while of playing you get a bit of a cramp in your fore arm.

This guitar was made very well. It has put up with quite a lot of punishment. When you get carried away with hard metal the strings don't go very far if any out of tune. The neck doesn't bend at all so you might be able to drop it without breaking it.(I don't suggest this)

I really like this guitar a lot and I encourage people to buy one if they have an oppertunity.
