The new USA 1216 Artist in vintage sunburst finish is equipped with Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups, CTS pots, Orange Drop capacitors, and a “volume kit” designed to preserve treble frequencies when the volume pot is rolled off. AXL used TonePros’ tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece. The model comes in a solid mahogany body with set neck, and added Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech Tusq XL nut.
The new gloss black 1216 Classic model features all of the above but substitutes AXL Alnico pickups and is offered with factory bridge/tailpiece and no “volume kit.”
The USA SRO Artist in a new vintage sunburst finish features Seymour Duncan Five-Two pickups mix Alnico 2 magnets on the treble strings, and Alnico 5 magnets on the bass strings.The “Super-7 switching” uses a push-pull pot to engage the bridge pickup in every switch position. CTS pots are connected by cloth-covered wire, and Orange Drop capacitors are design to give the Artist a creamy, classic tone. AXL used a true bent-saddle bridge and TonePros Kluson tuning machines. The model comes with a solid alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, Graph Tech Tusq XL nut, and a variety of finishes.
The new gloss black SRO Classic model has all of the above but substitutes AXL Alnico pickups, standard 5-way switching and Grover mini-Rotomatic tuners.
