All user reviews for the Eko Les Paul Custom copy

In reality this guitar brand "EROS" not EKO as shown above (to date, "Eros" is not referenced on Audiofanzine).

For the record, after some research it seems that this model was produced for a few years (late 60 - early 70 ') in Recanati in Italy, workshops Rosetti. Workshops which also came guitars stamped "Eko".

Description:

- Color Ebony (Black Beauty)
- Fingerboard: Ebony with pearl markers
- Handle?
- Body:
- Fittings cream color (patina over the years)
- 22 frets
- Bridge: tune-o-matic
- Black plastic pickguard

Electronics:
- 2 Humbuckers
- 1 volume knob and one tone knob micro
- 1 3-position selector (rhythm / treble)

Mechanical and original pickups, I just lowered the minimum action and changed the knobs against new ones.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very comfortable to play fast without being too wide.
Access to acute is rather easy.

Pretty heavy guitar, no wonder this type of guitar.

Played without amplification, it has a good sustain naturally.
The handle does not seem to have changed in 40 years, which is a good sign in manufacturing quality!

SOUNDS

Beautiful warm sound, I play mainly pickup side.
Amateurs crystal clear sound, go your way!

Amp home micro-cube mode "JC Clean" + effects pedals, and tube amps Marshall or Bogner studio guy.

Guitar well suited for jazz / rock, at least for the funk (attacks too "round" for this style).

Enjoyable to play arpeggios by the relatively high position of the bridge.

OVERALL OPINION

I used the last fifteen years and still play very often.
She took a few shots with time, yet it is in pretty good shape for his age!

Goodies: playability (neck + low action), its typed LP

Cons: finish a little rough in places (including the handle fittings), and electronic review ("buzzs" parasites = visit to the luthier to predict). The pickups lack a tad of power too.


Overall this copy is in good order.
