Bought from PMT in Oxford for the absolutely FANTASTIC price of £370...TOTAL and utter BARGAIN!!!

This guitar is an absolute dream to play. Straight off the shelf the action is just right and the neck is pretty fast. Has both a superb clean and overdriven sound to it with an excellent tone. Very comfortable to play sitting or standing (although your shoulder can ache a bit after a long time playing standing up)

Not a great deal really......in fact nothing!

Absolutely top notch! Guitar feels extremely solid and has a good weight to it...ok...a VERY good weight (as in its pretty heavy!!). All the controls again feel solid and not like they are about to fall off.

If you want a amazing sounding guitar at a very cut price compared to some then this is the one for you. And if you can find it at the price i paid for it then I would snap it up instantly!

Bought from the Academy of Sound in Manchester England and paid £450 for it (Bargain)

Everything Fantastic and worth every penny. There isnt that much difference between the custom and the standard apart from a slightley different tone through the high gain pickups and the gold hardwear. Plays like a dream the action is very low and is great.

Its not got Gibson written on the top

    Fantastic built to last.

This guitar is by far the best guitar that I have played. I would recomend them to nyone from the intermediate user to professional. Very easy to play and is very versatile. If you want a rockin guitar that doesnt cost the earth this is the one for you. Quite simply buy it.

I bought this amazing instrument at The Guitar Center for 500.00 U.S.A

Everything. The neck , the feel, the shape, the color(Ebony with Gold Hardware), even the way it sounds without the amp. My Les Paul Custom came with Gibson stock pickups, Grover Tuners, and an all-mahogany body. It was also assembled in the U.S.A, I believe in Tennessee.

It's kinda heavy because it's all mahogany. I also had a little bit of fred buzz on the D string but that was easily fixed.

The quality and construction was great, built like a tank. The setup was perfect from the factory. Besides the fret buzz everything is great. I've heard stories of the pickup switcher getting messed up but it hasn't happened to …

Very great sounding and well-built guitar. Beats any strat I've played. I recommend this instrument to anybody who is a serious player, you wont be sorry for buying it.

I got this guitar at Bellone's in London, Ontario, Canada. I paid around a thousand bucks for it.

This guitar is pretty sweet. For the price, it definitely provides a worthy oponent to the genuine Gibson Les Paul. The aesthetics are mint, the headstock is elegant and the body is........cmmon!!! its a les paul!!!

The guitar's finish is not as superb as the Gibson's, but thats one of the things that makes it cheaper.

The construction is solid. I have dropped the guitar a couple of times, and it does not even have a scratch. Epiphone has improved their quality inspection over the last couple of years.

I play in a classic rock band and wanted to get that "phat" zepplinesque sound that I love. At five hundread dollars I think the guitar is well worth it.

The blck laquer paint is awesome. But the tone is what I really love. The sustain on this guitar is fantastic due to the solid neck and the playability is effortless. I also like the different settings which are great for blues and soft rock.

The only bone I have with this guitar is it's weight due to the solid body construction but the sound more then makes up for it.

The quality of the Epiphone Les Paul is very good. In fact, having picked up a Gibson which retailed for twice as much, I can't see buying the Gibson(unless your loaded!)…

I recommend any lead guitarist who does not want to go broke but desires to sound like a professional to purchase any one of the Epiphone series Les Pauls. I love mine!!

I bought this guitar at John Bellones music in london, ontario, Canada. I was unhappy with my Fender Stratocaster, there were some things i didnt like about it. I traded in the fender and ended up paying 175 for the epiphone (retail price was $525 CDN).

EVERYTHING!!! this guitar is a dream. i wont buy a new guitar until i can afford a Gibson. i love the 3 humbuckers, you can get a large range of sound with no beckground noise or feedback. this guitar is alot thinner but a bit heavier than my old fender. it sound much better though. nothing. its a bit heavy but you get used to it, dont let that turn you away from buying this guitar.

amazing. my first guitar was a squier than i upgraded to a fender. they both had minor construction problems. this pickup screw were loose and the strap attachment things were falling off. not on the epiphone. built to last, its a solid guitar.

bottom line, best guitar ive ever played/owned. more than i expected. amazing. period. if you are buying a new guitar, try this one out.

I purchased this at a music store for $650 in April of 1991. It was the personal guitar of the sore's owner, & he desparatley needed cash to pay the taxman!

I most admire the action and playability of the instrument. One's playing becomes almost effortless when playing on it, it has a certain charasima about it that brings out the best in the person playing it. The ebony fretboard is a superb luxury, you'll never want rosewood again! It is also very durable. I used this guitar exclusively on the road for several years and it never failed me in any way. My particular model is a 1979 model with chrome hardware, I much prefer the chrome hardware to the gold.

My biggest complaint is the weight (it is a Les Paul!). I understood quickly why Jimmy Page & Ace Frehley used those big wide straps & slung the Les Paul so low! It does get tiresome after a while. I'm also a little disappointed in the tuning, it seems it should stay in tune better than it does. I believe that is the most important feature in a guitar: staying in tune. It stays in tune much better than say a Strat or the likes, and I noticed the gauge/brand strings I used made a huge difference. Dean Markley .10's seemed to work the best.

The construction & quality is top notch, no complaints here whatsoever. I do believe Gibson could've put a slightly better set of machine heads in place.

This is a fine instrumnent for anyone. I was going through guitar after guitar until I came across this one. It is still my primary electric instrument, & I got the thing for a song! However, due to its price in today's market, this is not a guitar for just anyone, serious musicians only.

I picked this guitar up from guitar center for $599. I decided to get it because I was sick of my Mexican Strat and didn't really like the sound of it anymore. That is when i decided to go to guitar center and try out guitars. I decided this one because I liked the sound, design, and shape.

I pretty much like everything about this guitar. Once you get comfortable with it, it is great. The Humbucker pickups are also nice too.

The one thing I dislike about this guitar is that it is very heavy towards the back and can topple easily if not secured in a stand.

The quality is great. So far I have found no defects and since Epiphone is a branch of Gibson it has to be good.

    Just try it you will…

the only thing I dont like is that the headstock doesnt look much like the gibson version, and I love the gibson headstocks

the construction and quality of this guitar is first rate...it is so well made I dont know why they arent as expensive as a "real" gibson would be..its constructed much better than say an sg special that actually sports the gibson name...i think its just the name you fork out for.

if you want a guitar that delivers much more than you would expect for its sticker price...looks sounds and is all around great...if you love les pauls..i seriously encourage you to check out these greatly kept secret tone monsters....

I bought this guitar on ebay for 1200 in mid 2002.

It has excellent tones and playability. Has custom binding and pearl inlays. It's a gibson!

A little bit of fret buzz on the low E, but after I had it professionaly set up, it was gone.

    Excellent, all the way around.

If you are going to spend some money on a good guitar, seriously consider a Gibson.

I heard about the Les Paul about a year ago.
Everybody rated it highly, so I decided to buy one. I knew they were expensive but I wanted the best. I bought one off my best mate for $2300. This was alot for a new Les Paul. But it was the custom, special ebalone
inlays and mother of pearl. It is the best guitar I've had.

The sound is crisp and clean. The action is great, easy to play and amazingly versatile.
The build quality is Gibson standard, which is flawless. It is quite small for an electric but produces an amazing sound. The Les Paul custom is definately worth the money. This one is Sunburst in colour with gold rim thrown in for extra.

The sound is just earth shattering through my Marshall DSL201 valve amp giving great warm distortion as well as nice clean notes. Moving around fretboard with the thinner neck is very smooth and easy too. I love the finish of the black and gold. it looks like a sculpture.

Its much heavier than the Korean version but I think this helps give you endless sustain. even on the clean neck pick up and doing a pick with a hammer on the sustain would not diminish so its great for melodic licks.

Its just first rate and makes the gibon LP a total rip off. i tried all 3 in the same shop and it was so obvious that the jap version was the best value deal. when you take the pick ups out the configuration internally is much like the original LP which the korean isnt

Its almost the double the price of a Korean but less than half the price of an original so I think If you can save up then get this. I will never sell this as the sound and playability is fantastic. it makes you want to practice non stop. call me if yu wanna discuss more.

The quality of this Epiphone Les Paul is not as high as a Gibson, but it still has the same look and great features. This Custom has a set mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard with block inlays and mahogany/alder top and body. It has binding in the body, neck, and headstock .Also gold hardware, 2 humbuckers, 2 volume and 2 tone controls and a 3-way toggle switch.

In conclusion this guitar has great things to offer guitar players. It can be used in all types of music, from slow and sweet to fast and heavy. So if you are going to buy a guitar that can do it all, buy an Epiphone Les Paul Custom.

The heavy weight of the guitar translates into excellent sustain and the pickups are wonderfully rich and full sounding. this gives "that Gibson sound" that has made the Les Paul line so famous. I love the way the guitar can give deep full clean tones and smooth growling distortion. The neck is well designed and makes for fast, easy play and the bridge makes for some easy palm muteing. and last but not least I'd like to point out that this os one of the worlds most beautifull guitars, black finish with gold hardware and cream trim. need I say more?

There is not much to dislike about this unit. However, I am puzzled by the fact that a three pickup guitar would have only a three way pickup selector switch. Most three pickup guitars that I've seen or played have 5 or 7 way switches allowing the player to use most or all possable combinations. apparently the setup is this: UP-Neck only, MIDDLE-Middle and Bridge, DOWN-Bridge only.
Also the weight of the guitar becomes an issue after playing for an hour or two. If you play standing up your shoulder will get tired for the first few weeks.

This gituar is constructed very well. Usually the body is 1-3 peices of wood
(yea but just try to find the seams, they are nearly invisable even in Epi Pauls with clear finishes)
The neck is another obviously. The fretboard is maple, and fretwork is very nice.
That said, most pards on the guitar are mearly adequit the list includes: tuners(low ratio), the nut(light plastic), and the output jack(gets loose sometimes).
the biggest problem is the pickup selector switch which is obviously cheap and becomes loose easily as well as being loose internally. Expect to replace this eventually.

Looking for a guitar? Check these out first. You wont regret it.
98% of the sound quality of a Gibson at 20% of the price. Do the math.

When you get it wrap the headstock in a cloth and pretend it's a Gibson cause you probably wont be able to tell the difference.
