Best value:
Excellent
Manufacturing china, dating from September 2007
22 frets, micro serial epiphone alnico
Tune-o-matic, how classic!
2vol, two tones
State nickel, nothing to say about the finish is nickel!
UTILIZATION
Channel end nice frets excellent access to the Augustinian paulien (ie it must do). Very decent weight, lighter than my les paul studio lite!
Sound: Well I'm about Q!! With only modest Marshall MG15DFX, and I plug in there: the sound is better than my gibson! Better defined, more fishing and precision, although crunch best on the neck pickup, I must say that I do not understand ... So I'll take my gibson review because I have doubts: less sustain (and yet the ear is 9-42, the Gibson 10-46), the more dirty (especially distortion!), a less harmonic.
SOUNDS
Everything is here: clear sound very nice, versatile mics (the knobs are really something) and disto wonderful: its the "annihilator" in acute, more "RATM" in grave: What happiness!
Well, I bought this kit because I have a scratch EMG ZW lying around for a while, but personal I will have no I would not have changed! Given all the reviews I read about these mics called rotten, stay on your ass!
OVERALL OPINION
I received it yesterday and I do not play on this one! Frankly surprised by the sound and finish, I will soon take my gibson studio lite settings because I can not believe this: a scratch 3 times the price which appears worse, I do not get it!
For me this Epiphone is a gift from the gods: excellent quality / price (I got it new for 270 euros), a frankly excellent scratch!
If I have to make another choice, I ordered two of these grattounes left gibson and that made me dream so much! Bouh Desilu that is hard!
EDIT 20/01: I finally tried it yesterday my gibson, and finally the sound is much better! More fishing life (especially in light), versatility, sustain .... I think I ' had not properly drive my jack when I make my comparison! mea culpa!
