Purchased new at Guitar Center, San Marcos, CA.
Price paid: $989

Why: Always wanted one and finally got it !

Where do I start ? The guitar looks, sounds and plays without equal. The one I bought is Wine Red with Gold Trim and full pearl inlays (no dots) and is beautiful (why do they say the Studio model isn't nice enough to play on stage ???).

The action is light and very predictable from fret to fret. Overall construction is very solid and appears flawless. The pickups aren't especially noisy, and the hardware is all very solid.

Sound is, well, it's a Les Paul - nothing else needs to be said ! It has a full, distinct sound with years of sustain (OK, maybe only hours !). Add some distortion and it rips !!! Plug it directly into the amp and you get a beautiful clean sound.

I think I better tell my wife that I'm in love with my guitar !

One minor complaint: The tuning peg on the third (G) string, while feeling smooth, is hard to "tweak" to get the string exactly in tune. I have to assume it's the peg and not the string or other hardware. When I bring the guitar in for the first string change (I like to do that with new guitars, don't ask me why), I'll have the technician look at it.

As I said above, it's awesome ! This is my sixth "real" guitar (I'm counting my Gibson SG, Fender, Takamine, Ibanez and Yamaha) plastic ones don't count) and by far the best constructed of the bunch. It also looks and sounds better than any of the others (and I LOVE my SG !).

If you can afford it, buy it. Nothing else to say.
