Epiphone has released the Ultra II ME Les Paul, an electric guitar that also has something of an acoustic.
This traditional maple-top-on-ebony-body guitar is not just any Les Paul, as this one includes not only two Alnico Humbuckers but also a Shadow Electronics pickup (located right under the fretboard) with Nanomag active electronics, aimed at providing what seems a rather convincing acoustic sound. Additionally, the guitar includes two output jacks that can either be used for creating a stereo effect or to blend electric and acoustic sounds. An A/B/A+B-type footswitch allows for switching between acoustic and electric, or selecting both modes at once.
The chambered body is made of mahogany with a quilted maple top, while the neck sports a 60s slim profile. The guitar also features Grover die-cast tuners, gold hardware and body & neck bindings.
