use knobs really works! See concerts Guns, Slash has no effects pedal (except Wha-Wha), it switches the sound clean / distortion by changing pickups neck / bridge adjustments via knobs different.
Example in concert at the Ritz in 88:

it uses one of his Les Paul Replica (live appetite).

OVERALL OPINION

The negative point for me:
Straplock screwed over, it is not treated for the Custom Shop ...
