Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus 2011 '60s Slim Taper Neck

Level finish is correct, but it is not on the Japanese or even Asian standards at present in general, it is clear that at this level, Gibson charged its brand. I do not care, I think that's part of the myth, but I understand that some people find it unacceptable for a skyscraper over 1,500 euros. After that, there are more important in life, and if the guitar is played things, it does not remain intact for years. UTILIZATION

The neck profile, the 60's neck is super fluid, once settled action ... Yeah this is Gibson, they manufacture in the U.S., they do not go the more you adjust the guitar before you deliver ... Another big advantage is weight. SOUNDS

The sound is modern, it may be so that are sometimes mixed reviews on this guitar. However, this sound is open, clear and well defined. By adjusting the height of microphones, I did not have huge volumes of differences between bridge and neck. It sounds good, and with time the sound opens. So sure it's less fat than Les Paul Standard or a PAF equipped 57, but why not consider changing the pickups before ruin the reputation of this guitar?
In a modern amp head, I assure you that when you do good big tumble grraouh with this shovel, it goes something ... Nothing like a drummer to calm a bit intrusive!
The clean sounds are widely usable, playing with the tone you break a little treble is not so bad, because sometimes it shears rather, it is a little dry. But crunch and distortion, everything thoroughly, it's good!

OVERALL OPINION

I played for almost 2 years, I think she gets better, she earns resonance vacuum, it is still easy to play and enjoyable. I remake that choice in order to have a piece of legend Les Paul without buying a Faded and putting 600 euros less than for a standard. Maybe I will choose another color to make more Les Paul "classic", but the blue Manathan Midnight is deep, with beautiful shades ... It is a skyscraper to discover, really pleasant, keep in mind that Gibson highlighting some modernism. You just need to approach it with an open mind a little ...

UTILIZATION

the handle is fine it's 60, it is easy to feel comfortable it after we like it or not a matter of taste ...
the system of push / pull is rather fragile especially in the position where one draws the button on mine is a 360 but it still works good ...
side weight is lighter than the Classic 90s which was pretty heavy on the other hand it was a 100% full

SOUNDS

the sound is modern microphones config is the same as the Flying V, the sound is a little brighter than the Gibson Classic 90 years, we are in more in the middles and treble that is where it is expressed best in the big drive it does well there's teeth, by the clean looks against cold is unattended after you have to play with the Tone ... and here it is the better side after the push / pull it immediately gives one side Jimmy Page, with a config Alnico 3 neck and Alnico 5 bridge in I think it may well blow test ... if you have a more open range system with single or dual I like but there is a difference of volume still

OVERALL OPINION

The black dot is the key "Baked Maple" even if you do not feel much difference if it is notable that visually because it really is ugly, it looks like a Ovaltine puked a bum lol
inventiveness of Gibson: reusing the name of a series that has card at the time and key changes the way ... the great guy except for the price you want to rosewood and maple if not all take a Stratocaster or Telecaster ... just for that I say no, we do not care where our mouth especially in nine can be Traditional

This is a typical Les Paul with its strengths and weaknesses (access to acute and weight).

SOUNDS

The pickups are very powerful. They need to use the volume to create nuances. The sound is heavy and not shiny. It is likely that I mounted microphones 57 and 57 to gain more flexibility.

OVERALL OPINION

I just buy it. I was looking for an absolutely typical Les Paul. I have tried several (Standard 2008, Tribute Studio 50, Les Paul Tradional). All are less powerful (question for microphones) and it thus becomes difficult to compare in terms of sound.

I found quite nice Studio 50 Tribute (humbeckers). I did not like the Tradional that I found very "clumsy" and a little rough to play.

The standard is very friendly and ergonomic but I really wanted a typical Les Paul I have not taken because it seems to be a hybrid with the body chamber and the resonance so special. It seems to be very versatile in terms of sound. In all cases more than the Classic (still a matter of choice of microphones in my opinion).

For the Classic, I like the handle 50 and appreciates that it is not chambered. It is very heavy in contrast to the standard 2008 which is super light and brighter. The volume knob and the other (tone) are effective. They do not affect the sound quality (when I fall I keep the volume of quality for clean).

Its appearance is beautiful and I appreciate that I have chosen is not too flamed (matter of taste). The day I changed the pickups I will do a comparison test with my Epiphone Standard Plus. Currently with the original pickups is useless as they are powerful (550T and 496R in the neck position).
