Gibson celebrates its 120th Anniversary

For its 120th Anniversary, Gibson launches limited editions of its most popular guitars. Let’s start the presentation with the Les Paul 120 models.

Two Gibson Les Paul 120 guitars are launched for this special event: the Les Paul Standard 120 Light Flame Top and the Les Paul Traditional 120 Flame Top. Both guitars are available in three versions, each with a different wood grade for the flamed maple top (and therefore with a different pricing).

Les Paul Standard 120 Light Flame Top features:

  • Mahogany body
  • Flamed maple top (A+, AA and AAA-grade)
  • Cream bindings
  • Set-in mahogany neck with rounded 50s shape
  • Rosewood fingerboard with 12” radius, 22 frets, cream binding, trapezoid inlays, including one with the “120th Anniversary” logo
  • Nut width: 1.695”
  • Grover Kidney tuning machines, 14:1 ratio
  • BurstBucker Rhythm Pro neck pickup and BurstBucker Lead Pro bridge pickup (both are humbuckers)
  • 2 volume and 2 tone controls, 3-way pickup switch and coil-split mini-toggle
  • Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece
  • Chrome hardware
  • Nitro-cellulose Heritage Cherry Burst finish
  • Ships in a hardshell

Pricing announced is $2500 / 2099€ for the A+ version, $2750 / 2299€ for the AA and $3000 / 2499€ for the AAA edition.

  • Mahogany body
  • Flamed maple top (AA, AAA and AA+-grade)
  • Cream bindings
  • Set-in mahogany neck
  • Rosewood fingerboard with 12” radius, 22 frets, cream binding, trapezoid inlays, including one with the “120th Anniversary” logo on the 12th fret
  • Nut width (Tektoid™): 1.695”
  • Les Paul headstock with pearl Gibson logo, golden “Les Paul” and white “Traditional” engraved on the truss rod 
  • TonePros Kluson tuning machines, 16:1 ratio
  • Dual 1959 Tribute Humbucking Alnico II pickups, machine wounded and slightly mismatched (reproduce the PAFs manufactured between 1957 and 1960)
  • 2 volume and 2 tone controls, 3-way pickup switch
  • Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece
  • Chrome hardware
  • Nitro-cellulose Heritage Cherry Burst finish
  • Ships in a hardshell

Gibson announces a price of $2800 / 2349€ for the AA edition, $3100 / 2599€ for the AAA and $3600 / 2999€ for the AAA+ version.
