Published on 01/28/12 at 11:06The Gibson Les Paul Slash Signature Goldtop is built from a mahogany body Les Paul Standard a table covered with maple, shaped by hand. This is a limited edition of 1000 copies worldwide. For the record, the original was a Les Paul Goldtop Reissue 1991 that Slash used most often in a position 'rhythm' (neck pickup) with Guns n 'Roses (November Rain, Estranged, Sweet Child O' Mine, Knockin ' On Heaven's Door, So Fine ...) from 1991 to 1999, when his studio was broken into and several of his guitars stolen. Eventually he managed to recover all the stolen guitars except the Goldtop. When he was offered a Gibson signature model has therefore requested a reprint of this guitar.
The set is painted the same color as the first Les Paul Gold Top outputs in 1952, ie finishing Gold Bullion for the table, and back of the body is painted in deep red old.
It is equipped with Seymour Duncan Alnico famous Pro-II uses the guitar on all his guitars.

UTILIZATION
The shape of the handle is perfect against the varnish is not fantastic, as is often the Gibson polish the handle at the right time for a game with sweat, it sticks a little. Therefore regular polishing the handle (and yeah ...), go to the limit a little bit of sandpaper, ultra thin and you're done.
The guitar is very well balanced that it is in play sitting or standing.
SOUNDS
I am fortunate to be able to plug this guitar into a Marshall amp Slash Signature 100 AFD (him again!) Coupled with a Vintage 1960 cabinet, it sounds so ... ben ... just like Slash! I also have a Class 5 and with a few pedals (TS808, OCD, Slash Cry Baby (decidedly !!!), Memory Boy) can cover a wide range of blues records, and even jazz (yes, really ...) until the metal, you just have the patience to deal with all that.
OVERALL OPINION
I use this guitar since 2008 mainly for playing songs rock and hard rock (Slash signature obliges ... but it's probably psychological, because I have used clear sound to play jazz and it sounded beautifully) . I also had the hands of models Slash Signature Epiphone home (GT, Appetite) but this has nothing to do, I have sold. I also have a Custom Shop LP R7 with a handle much thicker than I use more for the blues. I also have an SG and 2 strats that I love them all and I play depending on my mood but the Les Paul guitars are my favorite and these two models are perfect for my registry blues / rock / hard rock.
