OVERALL OPINION

It's been four months that I present and I do not regret it.
I was looking for this sound and I was fortunate to come upon it after some research unlike other.
I tried many guitars before, like Jackson, the Bc rich ... Enough metal type guitars, but nothing has as much convinced that the EC-1000 ...
The report price is exellent quality as I say, the Ltd. is not envious of her older sisters ESP.
The construction is exemplary and well cared for, this guitar is really gniale!

The Features and especially the finish of this pretty Corenne are at least "surprising":

- Mahogany body,
- Channel 3 al 24 cases spices mahogany
- Blinding with abalone, which follows the contour of the guitar (neck, head and body),
- Rosewood fingerboard, inlaid with abalone taken in the name of the MODEL entered the 12th box.

UTILIZATION

The handle is comfortable and well finished trs. The key is lgrement round, which takes a little getting used to, especially when you're used to those of Jackson or some Ibanez.
The bars are prcises, Access in acute is not as easy as on a Stratocaster or a SG but the shape of the heel and a small dcoupe derrire the cutaway does not make it impossible for all (all are fawn achte not a guitar for his trains Paul Treble Access in). At worst it makes the guitar vertically as does Zakk Wylde Les Paul with the time to play a solo and everything is accessible without problem until the 24me box.

The self-locking mcaniques greatly facilitate the change of strings and the weight of the guitar is trs correct. Especially mahogany, which is to be rput heavy.

This guitar is perfect for genres of music I play.
I t enjoyable surprised by the versatility of EMG 81. I had heard that these mics taient Reserved exclusively METAL is Fully wrong! I'm playing a lot of metal, I always carry hand a wide range of sounds that I turn my ds DIFFERENT knobs on the guitar and I change the micro selector 3 positions.

Whether clean, crunch on, or saturated I always thought my account of Contents sound. The sound is certainly trs dynamic but still clear and prcis. Or even Edge! This is one more instrument to bring out a mix or be heard as a group without having to push the volume too.

APRS good if it is to play only in clean or crunch it is clear that these are not the best mic in the world but remains acceptable even when.

J'apprcie much the two volumes to refine rglages when I change the micro slecteur to switch their heavy metal sound a little bluesy for example.

The bridge pickup is the one I use most. This is the most dynamic and adapts to both saturated as rhythmic solos.
The handle makes the well clean. It dlaisse some dynamics to compensate for dlivrer a more massive and packed with much more severe Submitted.

This is exactly the combination I wanted to sound!

The position intermdiaire dlivre bluesy sound nice in clean and saturated me parat adapts plans to address rockabilly, jazz or even to the level of saturation by the amplifier dlivr branch on which the guitar.

The mahogany gives rsonances beautiful notes and handle al highlights a long sustain, which can even be on a show almost infinite saturated its powerful!

Although sr, it is on all the lights that really goes the dynamics of the EMG 81 and the harmonic whistle better, but even when jai t bluff made by a Marshall MG30DFX and later on my multi-effects Boss GT-8 connected to a PA system.

Edit September 8, 2011: After seven years of use, I start getting tired of the sound of EMG 81. I bought a team of Ibanez passive pickups only recently to play in drop C # (the EC-1000 I use only normal tuning) and I find the clarity and pr radical decision EMG is an advantage as a inconvnient. There is a lack of standard and mdiums tural "prsence" my taste compared to passive pickups on my Ibanez.
So I think to change the pickups soon. Probably by Seymour Duncan.

OVERALL OPINION

It's been a few years that I have and I do not regret my purchase.
It's a versatile guitar and trs enjoyable take control if only one likes radius not extremely flat and pretty finish.

I wanted a Gibson Les Paul to departure. But my budget limited me to try to amend other models less coteux (BC Rich, Epiphone, Ibanez) and finally t have a long drawn Ltd EC-400 found in store for a test.
I finally came across this little sister of The Eclipse of what the ESP EC-1000.

The only complaint I can do now this guitar is the lack of a split microphones.
t would have the icing on the gteau! But this lack is compensated by the still prsence of 2 volumes that allow rgler indpendamment the output level of each microphone.
Moreover, when the slecteur intermdiaire is positioned and the volume of the pickup is low enough we can get closer to the lens of a single coil.

I also had the opportunity to compare my EC-1000 Gibson SG with a friend for some time and I confirm that apart from the impressive weight of the SG (vritable a tree trunk!) The EC-1000 is very close to the Gibson style. Particularly in the handle and the key.
Sr level is that a wood is a little hollow compartment of the mahogany SG body that is in full while the EC-1000 should be half full but did not enlve qualities provided, which are more compar quhonorables an instrument that is about a few hundred euros more ....

Great handle, less "highway" that my Ibanez, and it is not so bad, but not a log at a gibson, the best round I've tried!
Access to acute is quite convenient to the 22 boxes after that is another story, but essentially has the shape of the guitar.
It has a weight quite resonance
And quality of the pickups (EMG) and making make it sound on any amp without seeking more ... 2 seconds!

SOUNDS

I play mainly Metal "extreme" (Doom / Death / Black / Trash), but also of Rock 70 '80', the guitar is great in the micro acute disto! I rediscovered the EMG, since I have one on my Ibanez and rendering with this violin is totally scratch than to see the top!
I play with a Vamp Pro, connected directly to a sound system, hard ca Vamp and restores all the good violin and the guitar pickups!
As for sounds, sounds crystal clear is not easy to obtain (or impossible) then I have failed but that's not what I want, for position against the sleeve or two microphones at the same time, we can have great crunch!
In the bridge position, so good, it's great, big cut of the big rock or metal! that's good! EMG is magic! It sounds everywhere all the time

Despite the clean sounds that can not be crystalline, the guitar is polivalente!

OVERALL OPINION

I for a week, I bought it after spending 2 years on my Ibanez GRX-170 mounted with an easel in EMG81! and it is night and day (although I like the Ibanez becomes my second guitar)
It is perfect both in instrument making and electronics that perfectly matches my expectations. In fact, I wanted a Les Paul because I'm a fan of this form, I first thought was a Gibson LP Studio or a skyscraper as a luthier. I tried several Studio, but I loved these guitars by comparing the LTD is that it is better (violin and electronics) ...

everyone makes it but I have EMG81 2 good 2 different microphones (logo EMG neck pickup is dark gray instead of bright white). but good on the new ESP site, it says that there is a 60 before the handle so it must have been a mistake!

fixed bridge tune o matic type / stop bar modeled on the gibson les paul

3 pots proportional volume bridge, neck and tone + 3-position selector. the two volume pots are weird, they act somewhat together, for example in a central position (the two microphones at the same time), if we drop one of two pots, the sound is down to two. bad connection on the general problem or mine? j'men good form indeed a little bit I use the middle position!

set neck, medium thickness, varnished and painted body color, rosewood fingerboard, inserts "abalone flags" the most beautiful effect.

I have cete guitar in red (STBC), the finish is really superb! painting with the "waves" is really impeccable dark (the back of the guitar is a solid red which leaves the wood show through. I, who had commanded in black at the base, I am not disappointed with the change (because availability) and pleasantly surprised by the final color deeper flashy. it really is a sublime guitar to look at all angles. the only spot in the table is the small plastic plate to the saddle (as mentioned in another review) . well it's not really a fault, but the rest is so beautiful that it's sloppy next!

UTILIZATION

The handle is really nice, well I do not play so many solos, but many agreements which tortured hands hurt after a while. compared to my neck in imitation of strat a bit more aggressive and big but my 7-string Ibanez, I find the handle impeccable. it glides well, no fret noises (just on the half but good playing it safe and not interfere). but the thickness and shape are really good!

on the other hand, as already mentioned, do not rely on the 24 boxes! it goes up to 22, and again, not with the index! like the guitar is not écoppée up, from 17, the thumb is walking on the body and the neck of the guitar! but hey it is a les paul, I knew what I bought!

if weight level, you feel the wood, but it is no exaggeration! still take a fairly broad belt!

I like the bridge, it is easy to find for palm mute and not assault you the palm!

form, well, it's especially nice! seated, the guitar is quite backward compared to that disrupts a scraper type stratum, for a straight in 12, the left hand was aligned with the left leg. if not, when you play above, where the rounded right forearm is a little painful. myself, I listen to a lot of hardcore metal, and this is the typical scratch that! if not for my components that are between hardcore, emo and progressive, can you really be in a range which will inspire you! it is a good les paul but not for the Led Zep anyway! I have my old imitation Start with Duncan for it anyway!

I play with a marshall AVT100, and I use a wah morley bad horsie.

for settings:
you branches, you put all the pots thoroughly in clear you put the EQ of the amp flat, you put micro sleeves and aye! the sound is warm, the crunches are progressive, not very clean but we manage to do good things! for quiet passages is a good position!

you put into overdrive bridge pickup, you lower the middle and aye lol! What is it's heavy! it's still relatively accurate, the palm mute echo is monstrous. in acute send it too!

if not less greasy overdrive, the two pickups are very good as if you are looking for something specific (bridge) or hotter round (round)

I do not use much the center position, I have a pretty good range of sound and I personally do not like the positions to two microphones.

but overall the guitar is more suited to the heavy metal distortion and tuning so low!

it's been two weeks that I have, and I must say that I'm always on! it's a pleasure! I really found a guitar whose sound is inspiring and fun to play with 100%!

I love her as much fat in clear, its look, the handle, in short I love everything!

I have not tried other models, I wanted a guitar les paul shape, I have relied on the reviews on this site and I went for! it was worth the trip!

I got this guitar new at € 980 (the price of the black) (provide a little more for the normally red), the value for money is really good (thank you korea what!), everything was, finishing , sound, electronics ... a really good buy! I therefore concluded that it is a choice to recommend, really, you can go for it!

UTILIZATION

I have 6 years. my first real guitar. I always apprcie as when to drop (like godsmack, nikelbcack, POD, ramstein ..), it sends really heavy. clear need for the board but Elele is not made for that much recess. with the exprience I do not know if I reselect this one, have to see but in any case I am not dcu, the price is good trs

jaime: the look (class), big rhythm with too much gain, the solos in neck pickup, sustain pretty good, the wraps are really mcaniques gniales.
I like least: the clean, abalone everywhere, a little less would be better I think but t matter of taste

8 / 10, trs is good but not great either ^ ^ a good guitar for the big sound without breaking the bank!

UTILIZATION

HANDLE
The handle is very enjoyable for a Les Paul type U
It is very comfortable is does not catch. An adjustment period is necessary only if you play or handle type strat Super Start (ibanez etc ...) but over time you realize the value of a good large round, thick to sustain the good but not So too fast.
CHAC is easy to treble up box 21 ... even to the 24 th fret (with large hands like mine)!

ERGONOMICS

The three together make this guitar an instrument, if properly rgl dsaccorde which is really very little. We can bourrines on bends ca not move!

The density of wood (mahogany) and EMG gives it a sound very raw and brutal.

The EMG withstand extreme distortions, even blinds effect as here! The rponse is superb. It's almost an apprenticeship to master such a sound! The rendering is really good, the harmonics out of themselves.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 8 months and I am very happy. This choice I would do without hesitation.

The outstanding violin (yes sir!) At a price dfiant any competition!

The wood chosen, the set of microphones and very good quality fittings make this instrument a guitar type, gross, to the charms captivating visual and sound!

The EC LTD line has been a mainstay of ESP guitars for many years. It provides solid quality hardware and electronics for a decent price. These are LTD guitars so they are like ESP's Epiphone. They are made outside of Japan but are made to the exact same specs. So this guitar is like 1000 dollars cheaper than the ESP version. You get a lot of value for money with this guitar. On this model you get a mahogany body and a mahogany set neck. The fretboard is made of rosewood but other finishes get an Ebony fretboard for some reason. If they can put it on one why cant they put it on the others? The fretboard has 24 jumbo frets. Up top there are locking tuners and an Earvana compensated nut. Down at the bottom there is a tonepros locking bridge. The electronics are great with an EMG 81 in the bridge and a 60 in the neck. Other finishes get Seymour Duncan pickups. The controls are simple with a set of volume controls and a master tone. Up top there is a 3 way toggle to switch between the pickups.

UTILIZATION

The playability on these models is great. The EC models look like LP's but play like super strats. The body is thinner than what you would get on most Les Pauls so the weight is a bit less. The jumbo frets and flat radius fretboard let you get a nice easy action. The Earvana compensated nut helps correct intonation up and down the neck so your notes sound more in tune with each other. The locking tuners and locking bridge should be standard on every guitar. The locking bridge prevents the saddles from falling off when you are changing strings. This can mess up your intonation. Locking tuners prevent your guitar from going out of tune accidentally like if your headstock was to hit something.

SOUNDS

The EMG 81 and 60 is a commonly used set in ESP guitars. It gives you good distortion and good clean sounds. The 81 in the bridge is a serial killer. It has a crazy high end gain but isnt harsh. It very clear and you really hear what you are playing. It does not clean up well but that is what the 60 in the neck is for. The 60 does not have as much output but this makes it better for bluesy leads or clean playing. It has a great clean tone which is something most active pickups do not have. If you are looking for an even more organic tone from the 60 and the 81 you can do the 18v mod to the EMG's. The 18v mod lets the pickups run from two 9v batteries instead of one and this gives you more headroom and a more organic tone overall.

OVERALL OPINION

I think this model is going to stick around for a long time. It is perfectly priced and has all the features most metal players expect and demand. The locking tuners and locking bridge are something you wont get on a Gibson no matter how much you pay and the EMG pickups are the standard when it comes to metal music. ESP didnt throw in some cheap throwaway pickups for you to swap out on the first day. They give you a ready to rock guitar that can go straight from the box to the Gig.

OVERALL OPINION
