Made by Stagg, Belgian brand. I do not know what a developing country it was made.
Height adjustable easel. Cordier basic metal, covered with a tin cover, but decorative.
Acceptable level of finish: the visual aspect is nice, quality pieces of hardware honest for the price.

UTILIZATION

The instrument is not easy to hold, especially when sitting. It is inherent in the mandolin, I guess, but it's not easy to find the right position. And play all bent over the instrument, it can be for a limited time.
The pear-shaped body allows access to the treble. The tuning, the same as the violin, is no problem. Mechanics are basic but are sufficient for the agreement just a tool.
For me, the downside is the handle: the coating is thick and the profile of the handle, the hoop is of rather poor quality which, coupled with a fairly high action and high tension of the strings, making it virtually impossible the execution of agreements without pain. The instrument is especially usable for melodic lines.

SOUNDS

This gives the course a typed "bluegrass", but the instrument seems to lack power. This mandolin has been able to bring a touch of crystal to some of my arrangements, but his lack of personality and warmth. In short nothing very attractive, once past the good impression left by the look ... but do not forget the money! Only the second model (starting from below) the range of mandolins of the brand.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought it almost two years ago. I have a good laugh, but now I really want to learn the mandolin I'll invest in a more appropriate instrument.
