Rycote are introducing a new entry-level aluminium Lightwave boom pole at IBC 2010.
64cm at its shortest length and extending to a maximum of 1.63 metres, the triple-segment A-3 is the baby of the Lightwave pole range, weighing 371 grammes, and is designed for applications such as location recording with small news-gathering teams.
Unlike the larger and more expensive A5, it is not possible to run a cable inside the A3, but the new entry-level pole does feature the same quick release mechanism and reliable triple-cam locking system as its larger brother, and retails in the UK for under £80 including VAT.
The A3 pole is on display at Stand A60 in Hall 8 throughout IBC 2010.
