No problems with installation.
General configuration of the soft a bit complicated but when it was taken over is a real happiness.
No incompatibilities.
Never opened the manual, however the "Tips" for each proposed synth are very useful.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
PC Pentium IV 2.4 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, an old machine at the time or I wrote this opinion, with Windows XP Pro SP2.
MidiQuest runs like clockwork, no crashes, very stable.
I used to manage:
Oberheim Matrix 1000
Roland JX 8P
Roland 1080
Novation Bass Station (90s vintage version)
Lexicon PCM 70
Yamaha TX7 (DX 7)
Yamaha TX81Z

How long have you use it?
4 years
How do you like the most?
To edit from the PC and manage sound banks.
The practical side of virtual but here applied to "real" synths synths are obtained.
Have you tried many other models before buying it?
Some, "small" made by fans of certain machines softs, but not very developed.
How would you rate the quality / price?
A little pricey but considering the effectiveness of Soft without powerful editor such as Midi Quest Matrix 1000 or TX 7 (DX 7) are not editable and therefore not really usable. Significant time savings. Finally, it can be operated at 100% performance synths.
With experience, you do again this choice?

A must have for the Midi Studio
Published on 12/02/11 at 07:52I run this on a Macbook Pro with a RME Fireface 800 interface. I have had no compatibility issues so far running this software. I have not tried using any of the VST options, I have only used it as a stand alone program to edit my old "hard to edit" synthesizers. The manual is very clear and sufficient. I read it cover to cover as the setup and use of this program can be a little confusing and daunting. After a few days of use, I became fairly comfortable with the interface and can get some amazing sounds out of these old dusty synths. All the main features and options are easily found in the GUI or under the menus found above the program.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
Yes, again, I use it only as a stand alone program to edit my Roland D-110 and my Yamaha FB-01. So far there has been no crashes or lost presets (that one is extremely important). I give it a 10 out of 10 for performance as I never thought I could have this kind of flexible control over my old synths. It really opens up so much creativity as I use to use these old synths for there stock sounds, which aren't very good really (fun for some dance sounds) but now I use these synths all the time. I have been using MidiQuest XL for about 3 months now.
OVERALL OPINION
What I like most about it is simply the fact that you can control every parameter on you old synth from the ease of a well put together (slightly confusing at first) GUI on your computer. Saving these presets (or sysex dumps) is also awesome. This way I have no limit of sounds I can create on my old synths. For the price of a nice virtual synth, I was able to find new love for old gear. I think that's great and I was happy to pay it. This is the only software of this kind that I have ever used. Yes, I would definitely make the same choice again.See less10 - michaelrosner_nycPublished on 07/16/08 at 11:05 (This content has been automatically translated from French)- Installation is it without problem?

- What is the particular feature you like best and least?
(+) Support almost all the old synthesizers
(+) Very flexible in theory to manage the Bank, etc ... not had time to test because too many problems on the plug-ins and the application
(+) Support (by email) is very good
(-) Does not work properly with MKS-70, MKS-80, Xpander (can corrupt your internal sounds, make a backup with another soft or cartridge before testing)
(-) The application crash mode too often Studio

No. I do not think that this product have been enough to debug the real synthesizers. Before buying, check in detail if it works with yours (do not just check the list or ask). I decided not to use and request a refund, I am still waiting ...See less30
