Schecter Stiletto Elite 5

There are four characteristics of this bass that make it stand out from others I have played. First, it is a neck-through design, usually only found in high-end models, or at leat models starting several hundred dollars above this. This allows easier access to high notes on the fret board, without needing to reach around a bulky bolt-on neck. The second is the binding on the neck. Schecter calls this a "creme" binding that transitions the maple neck to the rosewood finger board. This makes the termination of the frets at the edge of the finger board smooth with a high quality feel and finish. Third, the finish on this is great. I have the "honey sunburst" which should be called "orange". The flame maple top is a $200 option at Carvin. Finally, I like the longer, 35 inch scale which makes the action a little softer and easier to play without buzz. It seems to be very forgiving.
My only dislike is that the strings are a little crowded. I think that with more playing time, this will actually be a benefit in the long run.
Construction and quality seem to be top-notch. Time will tell.
I've only had this bass for one week, but I don't see ever selling it. This will be the only five string fretted bass in my arsenal.

Schecter Stilleto Elite 5 string
Published on 03/04/03 at 15:00Purchased it from American Musical Supply when i was looking for a new Bass in the internet, paid $599.00.
This Bass is a killer deal. It looks beautiful, plays like a dream, you can put any sound you want from this bass. Most important: a very low action and slim neck. i've been playing for about 15 years diffrent kind of styles, from rock to tropical music like salsa. I have have played diffrent basses. fender, lakland, mtd, warwick, and the schecter elite compites with all of them, the diference is that you only paid $600 for a Bass that looks ans sounds like a $1500 plus bass.
Just love the Schecter Stilleto Elite, there nothing i dislike from the Bass.
