D’Addario & Company and DARE Music Group, an Austin, Texas-based musical instrument and guitar aftermarket product company, have secured a worldwide distribution agreement for DARE’s new product, the O-Port.
This new guitar product is designed to enhance the sound of any acoustic guitar without the use of electronics.
The result is said to provide “a fuller, richer sound with noticeably increased sustain and harmonic range.” This enhancement is supposedly particularly pronounced when the instrument is plugged in and amplified, resulting in a fuller sound, a stronger signal to the internal pick-up, and significant feedback control, according to the manufacturer.
The O-Port will first be sold in two sizes in music stores worldwide as an aftermarket self-installation device that fits in virtually any acoustic guitar, regardless of make or model, according to D’Addario and DARE.
