i was in long and mc quade picking up my new but very used laney 1x12 50 watt combo when i saw this head unit surrounded by mesa's and marshall's, i have owned marshall's but never mesa's and never a peavey head, but i like peavey, i always have, i originally wanted 1 or 2 bandit 1x12's but they didn't have any, so the next day i went back and handed over the laney and said give me my xxl, i tried it out and holy hell this thing rocked harder than any marshall i have ever tried, the xxl is mine now. i got it used but like new for 480.00 candian.

it is freakin loud, it is nice and quiet when you need it to be, it looks damn good, sounds damn good, i really like the 25,50,100 watt settings, i like the 16,8,4 ohm settings, the head is big but not too heavey (weight that is), peavey just rocks awesomely....

nothing except for the foot pedal button's are way too close for shoes. otherwise i love it!!!!!!

i bought this over at alamo music center in san antonio, tx for about 1200 dollars.
I had been shopping around for a halfstack in several gear stores. i tried out a marshall, crate, randall, and this peavey.
i liked the way they all sounded, the xxl sounds very good, and for the asking price, i took it over the marshall.i got it with a peavey 4X12 rms cab, 300 watt capability. i was looking at spending almost two thousand for a marshall.

great tone, bright, and warm clean. gets warmer the louder it gets. it has 3 gain channels, ulta, modern, crunch, then u got ur lead with the modern, classic, and brittish tones. it has a dampening switch, tight, medium, loose, lets u choose output wattage. 25, 50, 100watt. the cleans are great. its got an equalizer edge, bottom, volume, gain.
and for a solid state, it sounds kickass. dont let someone tell you that a solid state isnt an option. solid states are a good investment, especially since tubes can break and blow out.

i havent really found anything wrong with it. the foot pedal is kinda small, but youll get used to it.

construction is excellent, its got a metal face, and cardboard back very solid. as for quality i think its great for those of us that cant cough up 2 - 3 grand for a marshall or mesa.

for 1200 dollars, this stack gave me my money's worth. you dont have to have a marshall to have a great tone, shop around look at the peavey's, peavey makes great amps, you have to hear it for yourself.

I bought this blessing at AJ's Music (greatest shop around)for about 600 bucks. I bought it with the 5150 slant cabinet for 1200 total. I bought it for a more powerful better sounding amp then what i currently had.

I love the Ultra channel especially the modern setting. Also the clean channel sparkles like no other! THe reverb is phenomenal and gives me chills everytime i turn it up. THis head also looks incredible. The best looking head ive seen around. Another phenomenon on this amp is the 25,50,100 watt switch. you can choose the amount of power your using. The dampening is amazing also. Set it on loose and you got yourself marshall tone. Set the bad boy to tyte, and wow A MESA!

The only small complaint is the footswitch. Its to small. But HELL! IT WORKS! and its worth the small trouble because of the beautiful tone of the amp.

This amp is well built. The metal on the front protecting your good stuff inside. chrome knobs. BEAUTIFUL CONSTRUCTION.

Amazing Tone. Amazing Price. Amazing Looks. Amazing Quality. What can i say!? its AMAZING!

Head 100W switchable transistors in half and quarter power (50W/25W) to play smart at home without disturbing the neighbors or parents.

UTILIZATION

Very simple to use. Such as the Triple XXX with switch on the clean channel for a new type of sound or old school

SOUNDS

Same as the Triple XXX sonoritées I have. Big sound very heavy metal that can be surprised more than one, you would think that all the lamps c ets. But good for you try the two together, there's no heat lamps has pushed back anyway. Amplifier designed for Metal but still quite go anywhere we can s adventure play blues with a little distortion not dirty.

OVERALL OPINION

A mail order for the transistor can still be around € 1000. Compared head Marshall DSL 100 is a € 1200/1300 and there c ets lights at all. My advice: buy a Marshall or Ultra Plus head of OCCAZ and graft it to a distortion pedal or a POD for heavy metal sound. Ets But it very well still see a demand as required.

All dabord is a transistor amp lamp that simulates the sound is pretty good but it has limits (should not dream too much either).

UTILIZATION

Operation is intuitive with a trs slecteur which allows for three types of sound per channel and the usual buttons brief the door of a 2 year old.
For its part it and immediately it sounds as clear as saturates it's all good.
The manual does not exist ca stands on 5 pages but there is no need not at all serious.

SOUNDS

I use this amp for 8 months and not once I dcu t be it jazz (cort LCS2) or rock (the epiphone dot) and mtal well nag (guitar is personal emg rulez).

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 8 months and therefore of happiness, I have not found any significant default (even the price is not one).
Before I try to buy a Marshall VS100 and pictures are not bcp more effort so the peavey was impossible even to him.
RAPORT quality issue price plus the head stack XXL 412 js I had mono for a little over 1100 so cheap as to your exact once you play it.
A remake I choose the same choice but I will soon buy a classic 50 head for jazz because even if the lamp is trs simulation convincing my taste for jazz so if it is not enough you do not play jazz you will not have an excuse to spend a cot of this jewel.

SOUNDS

It is suitable for all types of music, it is super versatile at that level ...
In total you have 3 Channel with 3 modes CHANNELS by making a total of 9 sound ...
1) The clean is very nice I use it in vintage fashion because I think it is the most crystalline, the other two are warmer and less precise.
2) I do not use much of the Lead, but do not forget even when I like to use to make me british blues improvisation, and mode High gain comes a big strong crunch ...
The classic for me is not enough saturated

OVERALL OPINION

I've had a week and I'm screaming in all directions to see what he has in the noggin!

I can qu'apprcier versatility ... switch to kick on the footswitch of the Led Zep one killer distortion of Pantera or Slayer ... It's been fun!

I tried many amps before you fall for the head XXL (ValveKing combo, engl sovereign, etc.).. I really wanted to beginners amp lamps with two HP (combo or head + cabinet) ... I thought at the Randall RG50, tried to find 5150, ENGL Screamer ... the argument t is the price (500 XXL + marshall 1922 head on occasion!). I can only recommend this amp for those who want power, versatility and a first step into the world of amp heads.
