Correct
Stereo electret microphone (making room ...). However, it is quite versatile. The orientation adjustment of the capsule is convenient. There is a directional control (90 or 120 degrees)
It is very suitable for a mini-disc. However, a small preamp did not hurt (to improve the level), and I think even a tube preamp would not be worse: in fact, this mic has a tendency to accentuate the treble (normal for a micro electret you say). Some lamps may give a little round ...
The mini-jack, if it is suitable for a small recorder, is quickly limited. To overcome this, I made a cable XLR 5 points to 2 XLR 3 points. A cable that is not in stock trading (this type of cable that is used for the Rode NT4 for example).
It comes with a good table leg, a clip with several adapters and we will not complain!
