Stewart Audio introduced the AV30MX-2 and CVA50MX-1 combination mixers/amplifiers.
With each model weighing about 1.5 pounds, these 2-channel stereo (AV30MX-2) and 4-input Mono (CVA50MX-1) mixers/amplifiers are designed to be located in places typically off limits to more conventional equipment, according to the company.
The new Stewart Audio AV30MX-2 mixer/amplifier is UL2043 Plenum rated and is designed to provide convenience and installation flexibility above the ceiling or in other environmental air spaces. This feature makes it an exceptional choice for being concealed to prevent theft and is particularly useful when space is limited. With available pole and universal mounting brackets, both the AV30MX-2 and CVA50MX-1 can be pole mounted, attached behind flat panel displays, recessed in lecterns, and placed in countless other locations—making them an outstanding choice for countless installations, including presentation spaces, training facilities, and classrooms.
The quarter-rack sized AV30MX-2 is a 2-channel mixer/amplifier with the ability to output 30 watts on two channels into either 4-ohm or 8-ohm loads. The AV30MX-2 features clean, full, dynamic range power that makes this unit ideal for both background music and speech. The AV30MX-2 offers input options and incorporates dual RCA connectors (channel 1) as well as a TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) 3.5 mm mini jack (channel 2)—enabling, for example, a projector’s audio outputs and a microphone to operate simultaneously. This Class D amplifier provides a Euro Block output connector to the loudspeakers along with LED indicators for power, signal present, and clipping.
Like its sibling, the Stewart Audio CVA50MX-1 is a third-rack-sized device with the ability to be mounted and kept out of sight. This Mono mixer/amplifier offers selectable output capability. The CVA50MX-1 can output 50 watts into either 4-ohm or 8-ohm loads or can be configured to output 25/70V Constant Voltage for distributed systems. Featuring an adjustable ducking feature (to automatically lower the background music level during paging applications), the CVA50MX-1 provides stereo combining inputs, with all inputs summed to mono. The unit’s inputs include a balanced microphone input, RCA connectors, a TRS 3.5mm mini jack, and a Euro Block. Of particular note, the CVA50MX-1 provides Phantom power for a microphone a on a 3-pin Phoenix connector with an adjustable gain preamplifier. Should the need arise to duplicate signals for use on a second system, the CVA50MX-1 also provides a Line Out feature for auxiliary devices (daisy chain).
