I do not mine the serial number matches the date?
No. G136864 is and must be dated 71/72

see the excellent site: http://www.matsumoku.org/guitars.html
devoted to their manufacturer

UTILIZATION

Channel super nice
very versatile and suitable also for some of the jazzy rhythm
guitar a little heavy
the sound is good and especially versatile>> rock to cool jazz, which is rare for a solid body model of this type

SOUNDS

The switch provides a very direct its dry suitable for the country picking a little muffled

OVERALL OPINION

I used it in the distant past (1972-73) by copying a rock trio with Hendrix
The brother of a friend had lent me and left me since. I keep it as a relic of my high school years.
At the time it was the Strato's poor.
Although since the copies are excellent quality and apparent truer to the originals - I have a squier strato 80 - I do not know if the newer low cost models (1980 and s) or current are finally as good in terms of build quality, sound and materials.
