Bronze Mockingbird Yard sale buy
Published on 11/24/19 at 19:39Lucked out and found this gem in a custom fitted hardshell case at a yard sale. Lady wasn't sure if it worked and wanted it gone since she was moving so I only paid 20$ for it.
Has a couple chips in the paint, old D'Addario strap locks, and it must have been dropped at some point because it has a very fine crack in the finish running from the bottom of the body to the wrap-around bridge. The strings were so old they were brittle and had no tension left in them. I figured at the very least I'd have a decent fixer up to fiddle with in my free time.

I re-strung it with Ernie Ball Power Slinkys, checked the inside electronics and plugged in to my amp to see if it would work. Sure enough it did. I read some reviews about the guitar and they were all negative but I've got to say this guitar sounds better than the ESP/LTD fm-100 I have. It's less tinny sounding, however it does get a little honky sounding above the 10th fret.
I don't like the wrap-around bridge but it seems to do the job.
The neck is wide but super thin which makes it a bit uncomfortable for my big hands. The action is low and fast. Fret ends have no sharp finger stabbing bits and the neck is very smooth. Gotta say I was pretty impressed with the fretboard, it's really well done.
The tuners look super cheap, sooo cheap a better description eludes me, and I thought for sure I'd have to replace them but after the strings stretched out I've had no issues with it going out of tune while playing.
I'm very impressed with the tone of this guitar below the 10th fret. Clean it's thick and meaty and with distortion it's very heavy with lots of crunch. Most inexpensive guitars I've tried sound really tinny and it drives me nuts trying to dial it out with effects. Very good for such a cheap Indonesian made starter guitar. I'd pay up to 150$ for one of these in great condition and think if I can find another with the string thru body I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.
I've heard the better quality, higher priced, big brothers of this guitar with the heavier classic head-stock like to nosedive. This one with the pointy poke your eye out head-stock is well balanced.
Overall this is a work horse guitar. Great for a hobbyist like me and probably would work well live as well. Strong build, nice looks, and decent tone. A friend of mine who has played in bands for 25+ years played it and said "If you ever wanna sell it let me know and I'll buy it off you. I've got a nice metal guitar but this one is a hell of a guitar"

B.C. Rich Mockingbird Bronze Series
Published on 08/22/04 at 15:00I bought this guitar when I accompanied a buddy to buy a bass at Guitar Center in Memphis. If you can window shop a guitar of this quality then you know the price is right. Only $169.99. I almost pee'd myself. I had no intention of buying, but when I saw it,,,,,dude it made me buy it.
The price was what I initially liked, obviously, but around six seconds after I started playing it, I knew I'd made a helluva score here. With my Ibanez tube driver to accompany us on our journey my sound has been sculpted anew. It looks sick as well, nice curving contours in a sleek transparent type black. It has a definite "metal" type vibe as far as looks go. Kinda like an SG had sex with an Explorer...…

Nothing at all....well O.K. there is one little thing..the frets(from about 19 up) are a liitle smaller than those on my Kramer or Ibanez but that's a small price to pay for the overall value the guitar offers.
The guitar was built up to snuff. Aside from an unpleasant action setting(probably an in store doodler or employee) which i fixed immediately, the construction is solid. The quality of the sound is what I was really overly pleased with. Like I mentioned before, with the help of the Tube KIng and my 65W crate my metal just gained about 1000 lbs. The crunch will not stop.
This is the cheapest guitar I've ever purchased, and probably my fave, considering the price. Those stock pick-ups BC Rich uses in the package really work well for me. If you are new to axiology or if you are a vet with an extra $150, throw down the cash and pick this sucker up today. YOU WILL LOVE THIS PIECE!!!(it may even have the ability to manipulate human thoughts, someone else will have to decide)

B.C. Rich Bronze Series Mockingbird
Published on 06/03/03 at 15:00I bought the guitar new on E-bay for $130.
The body design is different. It makes a statement before you play a note!
The sound is heavy!
The feel of the guitar is awesome.
It's the perfect guitar for the hard rocker!
The neck is thick. This makes lead playing a chore.
The pickups are "muddy."
You can compensate for this though with your playing style.
The unorthodox body design is uncomfortable at first.
However,you get used to it.
The construction is solid.
It's a no frills B.C. rich.
It's understated, but raw and powerful!
I'm impressed with the bronzes series!
They are comparible with higher prcied platinum series guitars.
I'll use this guitar for heavy Meatl and hard rock...…

Published on 12/05/02 at 15:00I bought this from a local guitar centre, I paid £190
The sound is good as are the pick ups. The shape is awsome, never seen a guitar like it and the price was great for such a high quality instrument. It's solid but not heavy. I'd recommend it and its a bargain!
The only thing I didn't like was that they didnt do it in purple, but the red one i have looks good.
quality wa brilliant, the sound with my crate amp gave a really nice rich metal sound, great for heavy metal fans. The construction is good, love the shape and its a very solid instrument, at a gig, i wouldnt need to take a back up guitar, its 100% reliable
I recommend this to ANYONE. An expert or a beginner, this guitar is...…
