Published on 01/28/14 at 04:33Nothing to add ... mahogany, rosewood, violin hand ... A piece of wood nobility ...
The electronics are very standard ... for the U.S. / CAN. Excellent pickups, 5-way switch fragile, replaced in the first year. Knobs ... nothing to say, they still do the job after 15 years. Special mention for the hard case gibson custom way, nice and very solid.
UTILIZATION
Wide and flat handle. More versatile and reconcile, I do not think it exists.
It is an instrument of unstoppable study, and once tamed the beast takes you to the end of life, without flinching.
SOUNDS
I play everything with this guitar. H is just monstrous and 2 S U.S. strat sound.
Jazz, rock, metal are his favorites. But you can also hunt blue, funk, pop or rock, if necessary. Although for me, it remains the preserve of the Telecaster ...
In clean / crunch, we will sound warm low round neck S, the scathing and straight casseroles H bridge, sweeping a very coherent and homogeneous range of timbres and tones without ever feeling jittery volume or power.
Saturated, the same conclusion, and the flat very accessible button in acute facilitates pull effects and taping (for amateurs, I'm not a fan ...). The H bridge is apocalyptic cranked ...
Basically, it is a professional instrument, no more, no less.
OVERALL OPINION
Everything has been said, I'll tell you my story.
In 1998 I got robbed. It took my beautiful and rare Fender Japan Strat Lake Placid Blue Rosewood ... my first electric bought by my father for my 14 years in 1988. One with which I had learned everything. My first love ...
There followed two years of absolute mourning during which I could not look at an electric guitar in the window without crying again and again my beautiful blue. And it is this Godin who saved me and out of total abstinence electrical, turning radius of a guitar shop frankly installed near me.
Ouahow ... Not bad Godin, remarkable qualities, incredible price ... I take ... However I was told it would do as long as I can afford to offer me THE high-end Strat the same blue as my late, and then ... I never could bring myself to part with it, or even to complete. I should never find anything approaching even Fender, because it is much more than a great concept Strat copy. It is a strat reinvented by Godin whose makers are among the best in the world.
So I never new translucent blue strat. I'm going to offer me a Deluxe Tele Aged Cherry Burst Rosewood U.S. for my 40 years.
If you are lucky enough to find a copy of this Godin day, try here, you will understand from the first riff what this guitar is a unique instrument, which may not please you, but can not leave you indifferent.
Why have stopped production? Why so few resources on the net?
The firm Godin told me that this model was not recipe at the time. It was Fender or nothing (Dire straits going to Bercy for ultimate tour strat forward ...).
He did not even have more documents or archives ... ??
