Only small problem on that side, it tends to lean when it is released, as the SG so. And also big plus: despite its original form, it comes in most flycase and standard covers. Being the proud owner of a Razorback, I know that it matters.

    SOUNDS

To play hard rock to the most extreme metal, it is perfect. I shoot a lot in the treble, that's where she excels. However, to play the blues it is the trick too, but the clean is a little slamming, do not buggers funk casseroles with this guitar. Of course there is always a way to play with the volume knob, but it's still a guitar with two humbuckers.

    OVERALL OPINION

I have since I started in 2008 and I still do not get tired of this guitar. This is a more compact and cheaper version of the classic Iceman models, the shape of the body is less deep and slender, but playing comfort whether sitting or standing is total. However, it weighs its small weight and beyond several hours together, it starts to be painful for the back. The price / quality ratio is excellent, I recommend it, although I feel it is no longer manufactured, or just difficult to find in Europe (I bought a Canadian).

I play in a classic rock type band, old Ozzy, ACDC, Zeppelin, that kinda thing.

At a currently out of business local music store

I have owned this guitar for 3 years and it has been my main guitar ever since, I also have a Gibson Les Paul Standard that this guitar completely outshines, I originally bought this guitar as my "take on the road" guitar with every intent to replace the pickups with aftermarket models, but after a couple of gigs with this guitar I decided keep them in, very solid guitar and very light due to the decreased body size, Ibanez got it right with this guitar as I plan on purchasing another one soon.

The one problem I have with this guitar is its balance, when you let go of the guitar while standing up, the headstock heads for the floor, but dont let this scare you away, this guitar is a great deal, has a great sound, and is not limited to just hard rock, there are many types of music you can use this guitar for.

Everything is fine, the only complaint i have with the guitar is the neck-heaviness.

has served me very well, cant wait to get another

I've been playing the same old Ibanez Roadstar 2 since 1984, and it was getting pretty tired, I definitely needed a new axe! The bewildering array of guitars available posed a bit of a challenge, but in the end, I went back to Ibanez because I love the quality, sound and ease of play. I found the ICX120 at Steve's Music, in Toronto, Canada at a great price, $335.00 Cdn. After I had had it in my hands for about 5 minutes, I decided it had to come home with me...it felt made for me.

After I had had it in my hands for about 5 minutes, I decided it had to come home with me...it felt made for me.

The main points that decided me on this guitar were the looks, it is so distinctive, the build quality, and sound quality. This guitar sings, it sustains in a clear unwavering way that makes you think of guitars that cost twice as much or more. What a deal.

There are a couple of very minor drawbacks, and they have to do with accessibility. The strap buttons are in a slightly odd configuration, but after a few minutes, you get used to it. The set screws on the bridge to set the intonation, are located right in front of the bridge pickup bezel, you'll need a 90 degree flathead screwdriver to reach in there. Speaking of pickup bezels, the chrome plating looks a little chintzy. Other than that, no complaints whatsoever.

The pickups are very responsive and the controls very smooth and accurate. The neck, always a strong point with Ibanez guitars in general, is no exception. It is well finished, the frets are well set and the rosewood fingerboard is flawless as is the maple neck. The machine heads are high quality, and again, smooth as silk and accurate. They also don't slip...at all. I generally play in alternate tunings, like Modal D, so it's important that the action be responsive across the scale, and it is. The fixed bridge is solid, and the intonation is perfect. The Basswood body is medium weight and the finish is well applied as is the perfing around the edge which is of a nice ivory like colour. The bolt on neck fits like a glove and is immovable.

For the price, this guitar has few equals. In terms of overall quality of construction, looks, playability and sound, it has qualities you'd expect to find in much higher end instruments. I would recommend this guitar to young or old, beginner or seasoned pro, you can't go wrong. It's a winner.

I Bought this guitar at Hermes Music for $230. I was thinking about an Ibanez GIO until the guy showed me this guitar.

Great pick-ups and a great body shape.

It's a little neck heavy. Strap hooks on weird.

    Great Construction.

Great for Drop D tuning. Pick ups sound good on distortion but are a little less impressive clean.

I bought the ICX-120 for 230$ at Sam Ash. I say that is an excellent price for a good-quality guitar.

The neck is very comfortable, and its large frets make it easy to play. The pickups sound awesome, and the light basswood body makes it even more comfortable. Also, the shape kicks ass!

The strap buttons are positioned akward, but I got used to them.

Great quality and construction. The guitar is sturdy, and it stays in tune for a long time.

I give this guitar a two thumbs up!

I bought this guitar at my local music store (Field of Dreams in Fairfield, IA)
    for $250.
I bought it for it's looks

The best thing about this guitar is that it's so lightweight. Much lighter than even a strat! It's a breeze to play and very comfortable sitting down or standing up.
It sounds great, especially considering the light wood that's used. Some people don't like the pickups, but I thought they were great!

The one thing, and it's very minor is that, since the bottom of the guitar is unbalanced, it won't sit up without a guitar stand very well. no big deal.

    A+

very good for hard rock, metal

i got this guitar at the local Guitar Center for about $250.It suited my small budget quite well

plays like a dream. It stays in tune for a long time as well.If your into playing hardcore metal like myself then this is a good affordable guitar for you.You can't beat it for the price.

Well, there's not much i didn't like about this guitar.I'd say the worst thing was the strap hookups, they are a little akward but you just have to get used to them

good quality,it's an ibanez. I have had no problems with it so far. it sounds damn good with a couple Dimarzio dx2 humbuckers

overall very nice. A good begginer guitar, also a good price tag

I purchased this guitar at Guitar Center in Foothill for 249.99 (269.36 with tax). I previously owned a Squier Standard Strat, and that worked fine, but I wanted something more enthralling, something with heavier tone. Then, like a tick to dog, I became attached to this guitar, seeing that it was similar to the one that Daron Malakian uses.(If you don't know who he is, then...uh...I guess you don't know who he is. Guitarist for System of a Down. Yay!!)

The high output pickups are amazing for the price. Great for playing rock and metal. Also, the ICX-120 is equipped with a Wizard II neck wich is low action. This facilitates playing fast power chords a licks. Tunes well. The Iceman ha…

This facilitates playing fast power chords a licks. Tunes well. The Iceman has killer looks to go along with its tone too. It's not as cumbersome as a Gibson, but still is not as contoured as a Strat. I love the shape of this guitar, and the chrome hardware is definitely a plus. Oh yea, great bargain!! For being my first Ibanez guitar, i was very pleased.

The strap setup is kind of akward, but thats nothing big if you hold it correctly.. Low E string buzzes, but that can be fixed. Nothing that affects this guitars performance though.

The construction of this guitar is great!! I have not found any flaws on this guitar. Quality is great too, considering the price.

This is a great guitar if you are looking for a real rock guitar with a multitude of capabilities. Evertings great!!I am very pleased with my purchase of this guitar.

My first guitar was a Mexican Fender strat, and when I realized that I wasn't getting the low-mid tones that I wanted from that, I got the ICX-120.

For 250 dollars, nobody will ever find a better deal on a guitar. It comes with two sets of coil humbucker pickups which sound great. The way it plays on the neck is awesome, and very comfortable. The tuning mechanism is also good (some guitars have horrible tuning mechanisms, I don't get it) it gives you incredible low-mid tones that you'd never get from a strat. The cord plugin is in a nice spot too, never gets in the way.

The way the strap connects is a little funny. When you put your guitar on with a strap, the top half (neck and hea…

The way the strap connects is a little funny. When you put your guitar on with a strap, the top half (neck and head) fall to the ground unless you hold it up. I suppose you could duct tape your strap so it wasn't so slippery, but I never really let go of my guitar during a song anyway, so it doesn't bother me much.

The ICX-120 has a fairly thin neck, which I really like about a guitar. Pickups are nice, tuning mechanisms are nice, kind of a weird shape, so you might need to get a different case, but it looks awesome.

My current lead guitar player in my band plays on an ESP, which he bought for 700 dollars, which sounds incredible, and my Ibanez isn't as great as that when it comes to low-mid heavy tones, but I definately can keep up with him. Also, considering I spent 250 on mine, I think I did alright. Bottom line, if you're an intermediate guitar player looking to upgrade your guitar, this is the guitar for you. You can get some great sound and great playing out of the ICX-120 for a very VERY reasonable price.
