    PRS Santana SE

PRS SE Santana - BlackPublished on 01/16/03 at 15:00
Purchased from Musician's Friend online for
$499.00. I liked the looks and what I read in the reviews.

Awesome tone, good harmonics, intonation o.k. after alot of adjustment. Nice looks, I had the vintage cherry.

Bridge hieght was hard to adjust with the intonation set screws adjusted in. The screws scored the bridge posts. I tried to control this by backing the set screws out to adjust the bridge hieght, then back in again. A long process to get everything set right. Also the neck was too wide for my tastes. It screwed me up, going from my Ovation 1668 std. elite to the SE

Nice finish, fretboard binding and the nut appeared cheap though. The stop tail piece was a pain in the …

Nice finish, fretboard binding and the nut appeared cheap though. The stop tail piece was a pain in the rear to adjust. Some string buzzing, I stopped it by adjusting the neck and raising the bridge. So much for the low action, but I couldn't handle the rattling 1st, 2nd and 6th strings. This raised the action back up there with a strat, which was what I was wanting to get away from.

I wouldn't mind having another one, but I think they are over-rated. I wouldn't give more than $250 for a used one. Save your money and by a real PRS, made in the USA.
Also, to my ear, the tremelo equiped guitars don't have the tone of the stop-tail guitars. PLEASE NOTE: I bought a pearl white Santana SE first and didn't like the color, called Musician's Friend and they traded me for a Vintage Cherry. Very few questions. Super-good people to deal with.

PRS SE Santana - BlackPublished on 02/22/02 at 15:00
I was at GC's "super weekend sale" (which is every weekend) and they said we have a prs santana SE for sale for 150. So i was like, wtp, ill test it out. I bought it mass cheap and it turned out to be a darn good deal.

The setup is great, i love the feel of it. The Pickups sound very good unless you want a dominant palm mute sound for the heavier stuff. This guitar is very versatile for the price.

doesnt have locking tuners. Not many options.

It Seems to be made well, The finish is great and it plays great.

Im going to give it an average score just because 4 is awesome and i dont think i will ever find a 5. Its a decent guitar, i enjoy it.

    Nice
    Impossible to play sitting

From what I read, she was appointed three years in a row best guitar of the year by 51 international newspapers (source: the black box).

For my part, I have one, I am satisfied, the finish is nickel. Good guitar but changing the pickups it even better. I bought OCCAZ to a person who has very well maintained.
In bridge pickup is a seymour jeff beck (SH-4).

It uen guitar, in my opinion, rocker and more.

This is what I can say. Research by the cons of OCCAZ because it costs 2 times less expensive. for the same price, there may be models of best quality or best suited to your game

    OVERALL OPINION

Kinder to please take off my = copy / paste.

    UPDATE April 27, 2007:
I sold some time ago. To conclude my opinion. I confirm "guitar only bought time." The market has moved and scratches can be found in this best on the market.

The version I had was from 2001. The output of the microphones was not powerful enough to change or mic.
