Published on 07/28/11 at 10:59Made in China, as alluded to in the title. Basic Les Paul design, with a slightly larger body (will not fit in a LP case.) Fixed Tuneomatic type bridge, 22 frets, two humbuckers. Two volume, two tone controls.
UTILIZATION
cutaway allows full fret access. Neck profile is nice- not too fat, not too slim. In spite of the slightly larger body, neck does tend to dive a bit, the guitar could be better balanced. This example is several years old, and original switch and pots are doing just fine- original pickups are long gone, so I can't comment on them.
SOUNDS
This guitar sends a good signal down-line- you can play it through whatever amp you like, and you should like it's tones.
OVERALL OPINION
sunburst top is beautiful to look at, for either you or your audience. The weird-shaped headstock- ummm, not so much. I bought this one as a test-bed for soap bar pickups, which I had never played before. Good foundation for mods, or to be played as-is- you should not need to change tuners, pots, switches.
