22 frets.
3 single-coil pickups, a 5-way switch, a volume knob one tone knob.
Standard bridge with floating tremolo.
D handle, fine and satin varnish.
UTILIZATION
The handle is really THE feature of this guitar. He slips, it slides ....
D profile, not too wide. Starfield (unless I am mistaken) is the ancestor of Ibanez.
The handle looks close to close to those equipped with Ibanez (GR series for example).
Access to acute is excellent, the whole handle is accessible.
In terms of comfort game, this guitar is my reference. Beucoup people accustomed to stratocaster, telecaster or others were pleasantly surprised by the handle.
SOUNDS
The sound is perhaps the weakest points of this guitar.
Correct, but you can probably find better.
The neck and middle pickups are the ones I use most, alone or in pairs.
For cons, I almost never use the bridge pickup I find garish.
The volume of the microphones is correct if the rule well. As against the tone knob
has very little effect on the resulting sound. I always use 10.
I started playing Dire Straits / Pink Floyd on a Peavey amp 65W transistor. It did, but at the time, the time that there was a distortion, it was good for me. I think for the big, heavy sound, we must look elsewhere. But that's okay, it's single coil.
Currently, I rather play jazz pieces on a Ibanez TSA 15 amp (head + cab).
And it does it well.
OVERALL OPINION
I have this guitar since 1992. I bought it without really knowing what an electric guitar, I followed the advice of a seller who offered me this one because it
entered my budget.
The particularity of this guitar is certainly the handle. I might try your pile of guitars in shops or with friends, I never felt the same comfort game
I made this choice without experience, value for money was ultimately good for the time.
Brand no longer exists, so difficult to me again the same choice. I have long thought switching guitars and haunted the stores in search of the guitar which, in my budget, procure me
much fun game I changed all the material around, amp effects ....
But I kept my starfield.
