Washburn WI64 Relic

The Washburn Wi 64 Handle is very comfortable, I played on strat so it changes me, but it adapts very quickly and runs very fast and accessible in the treble, the 22nd fret of the low E string went 3 months without any damage to the wrist with this guitar.


UTILIZATION

Cant really say how much I love this guitar, I have used many Washburn’s over my years as a musician and the Wi 64 Relic is one of the better ones that they make, not the most expensive one though. Which means that you can get a great sound for a small price. And I am all about getting gear for a low price, especially gear that sounds great.

SOUNDS

When the price tag came into view, and I realized that wasn't the case. I also realized that if this thing played as good as it looked, and was at all comfortable, I was going to get it. To make a long story short, I got it. It's set-up was really nice, and the pick-ups sounded incredible. The coil "tap" trims 30% off the single-coil and gives you a whole different (softer, jazzier)tone, at much less volume. It is useful, I was just surprised to see a single coil pick-up tapped. Fit & finish is as good as I've ever encountered on a Washburn. It's a beautiful guitar that, IMO, just needs black bell knobs to be perfect. And maybe gold hardware down the road

OVERALL OPINION


overall, super comfortable to play, as ultra light weight pen overgrazing. even lighter than SG! It is even so light that sometimes it seems to play like a kid guitar but if you really listen you can tell that its great quality. This guitar is a no brainer, the settings are basic, Les Paul style. there is just the knobs to split the microphones. Nothing beats the sound, I like the locking tuners and push/pull coil split pickups. Sounds fantastic.

overall, super comfortable to play, as ultra light weight pen overgrazing. even lighter than SG! it is even so light that sometimes it seems to play a playskool scratches if you look at the beast and no one listens to no sound. as it sounds!
no brainer on this point, the settings are basic, Les Paul style. there is just the knobs to split the need aprivoiser microphones, but ca no secret, is to experiment. relatively versatile in sound, of course we will tease the least Canibal corpse as Led Zeppelin, but it still sends the pie if you work hard enough!

SOUNDS

As I said above, this is a very versatile guitar, so I need to complete my strat customized version Seymour Duncan HotRails.
I use an Egnater TOL 100 amp, it sounds damned good, before buying it I also tested on a VOX AC30, a RANDALL, MARSHALL JCM200 and a KUSTOM, each brought his amp on different key guitar, but she kept in any case a nice range of sounds.
I especially like the sound clear when the two pickups are connected in humbucker mode, the crunch with the neck pickup in single coil between 50/50 and humbucker, and the distortion, bridge humbucker + = big sound!

OVERALL OPINION

I did the last few days, I am already addicted.
besides being able to adapt to most styles of music by its sound, it also looks super class that goes whether you are a hardcore band and blues.
if I had the choice, I will redeem this one, unless they leave the big box sor in 24 .....

UTILIZATION

The neck is super enjoyable to play what is becoming a problem as we try another guitar: first it is very fine and also it is raw, so when one is not a fan of strats choice deuxime a scratch (when you want to put miles and cents) becomes difficult. Well you get used to the comfort.
The access is very good for acute and jouabilit excellent condition that the string is not too far from the key (but hey it's the same for all guitars).
Play early or sitting is super comfortable due to its small size (less than a pais paul archtop for example) and light weight. Me I jump in with all the senses (for the game scene and fatigue is top).
Its micro level splitables are not a practice we get sound but the rhythmic funk strat not ask no problem.
For my part, I put in a position intermediate-I have a beautiful pallette of sound for its clear and arpge ds that engages the tube and sream bah that is happiness.
So 9 just because I once loved Splitt that has less felt.

SOUNDS

I play rock / pop / blues / funk.
my amp is a Vox Valvetronix. This amp is great at the base so the two sets you can do everything that is orgiastic. in session can I play a marshall and the dynamics are slightly less presents the record is more homogne. even on a transistor is doing well, but matter of taste I find less alive.
voila, they come here the only criticism I would make is that when we push back the volume was not that little natural crunch. It is always clean, clean, crystalline, rich sounds.
a small 8 suits him so well.

OVERALL OPINION

I have since 2006. And I love him more. I will not resell because:
I chose it and I have been offered.
I've never seen someone play on the same model. it's not like strats: P
every time I spell in a store or to anyone not playing guitar, everyone drooling.
has to be my 5th electric and saw that the LATEST (an Epiphone LP100 with more micro OBL) I miss her as deuxime guitar, I would sell it for a Ampeg Dan Armstrong plexi.
quality price ratio, I would say that today I would have put 200 euros more for the same quality and the same originality.
in 2 years I have just two screws at the bridge pickup which rust and patina to the saddle even more. And the coup de mdiator on raw wood is not seen too much.
we all age well short both.

edit December 2010:
T I am obliged to spare. I made a studio power in the year, plugs into a TS9 and a Marshall, Ing has almost nothing to touch it out of the mix unlike the PRS Singlecut SE of the second I grateux that plugs into the silent table through a "no amp".
assessing four years together: the finish is very good, wood good quality and well done I can be sch 2 / 3 rglages in total. There is a small sputters on a knob but nothing irrmdiable with a shot of WD40.
Bravo washburn is a guitar that I will miss.
