Great tones!

Martin & Co 000-16GTPublished on 03/14/13 at 21:24
The Martin 000-16GT is a 6 stringer guitar that has solid mahogany on the back and on the side of it. This acoustic is one of those ones that get better with time. They say the longer this wood sits the better it will get so it will be interesting to see how this guitar looks and sounds year from now. With it being a Martin, I will not be surprised that it will age beautifully because most of their higher end guitars do.

UTILIZATION

The 16GT comes with a hard case to protect this valuable investment. Because this acoustic guitar is not one of the inexpensive ones that Martin makes. The tone with this acoustic sounds like an expensive acoustic too! These guitars sound great and if you paired up with a high quality microphone you will sound very good. I recommend spending some money on the perfect microphone to use with the 16GT because that will be crucial when trying to get the best possible sound out of it for recordings.

SOUNDS

There are 28 inlays and a modified low oval neck shape. The bridge material is “black richlite” with boltaron bindings. I Have been using this acoustic for around 3 years now and it still sounds like it did the day that I purchased it. If you are looking for a playable acoustic with great tones this is the one to go with, the fact that it comes with a hard case is a huge plus. Also I do recommend purchasing this directly from the store.

OVERALL OPINION

I got mine from Guitar Center (in store). I have heard horror stories of ordering them online and then they get to your step in bad shape. I am not sure if this is quality control issue or what but it is always better just to go get one in person!
