Ovation presents the Panda Guitar, a limited edition acoustic guitar produced to celebrate the 2008 Olympic Games.
According to Ovation, this model was created to celebrate the Olympic spirit and the universal language of peace: music. The guitar will be used during the televised ceremonies for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
The hand painted design combines the tonal suggestion of the blue sky that the world shares together with the iconic panda, a symbol that speaks to the geographic and cultural dinstinctiveness of China. Chang Kuan, one of China’s most popular recording artists, has participated in elaborating the design of this very unique model.
These guitars will be exclusive to the locations of the upcoming summer games. Only time will tell if this will spare Ovation the controversy that such a model could very well arise…
