It is a transistor amp, two speakers celestion vintage coming out 75watts each. 4 channels to define yourself with all the settings imaginable (no potentiometer single "tone" as in eg blackstar). There is a chorus flanger, phaser, delay and reverb.
16 simulations from light amplifier, crunch, blues, rock, metal, and insane (double gain compared to metal).
I think this is a very good amp for its range which can evolve heavily in his guitar playing.

UTILIZATION

The config is very simple: you move the knob, and click on one of the 2 x 4 buttons representing the channels and it is assigned. Big advantage when moving the amp or we have children and that knob change.
The sound is really well simulated (reminder: 16 amp simulation) and clearly identifiable.

SOUNDS

It is suitable for all styles of music from his amp simulations, so if you like to play different styles or changing your style, the amp will evolve with you. One thus obtains all sounds imaginable. I tested it with a strat, Les Paul and ESP, and it looks fantastic!

OVERALL OPINION

I used it for 1 year and a half before having tested four others. I had the 15 watts that was good enough for his power, which convinced me to go to it. If it was a remake, I would do! Besides, I'll opt for sn big brother, identical, lamps!

The Spider III 150 is a 2x10 150 watt amp.
I have been playing guitar for about three and a half years, I play mostly metal but I also play some lighter rock sothe amp was perfect for what i needed.

I bought this used from a friend for $230.00.I had been needing a new amp for a while and I didn't have a lot of money and the amp was the best in the price range so I got it.

It has a large amount of built in effects that if you had to buy pedals for you would spend $200.00 easily.Also it can handle pretty much every kind of music from nice clean tones to heavily distorted death metal.

I have no complaints against this amp other than line 6 could have made it so the input was secured better.

The amp is very sturdy,but the input came unscrewed and fell into the amp one time but I got it back out.Also it isn't very heavy so its easy to take places.

This amp is great for a person on a budget, beginers or someone that wants a good practice amp.I really like mine a lot.

Been playing for about 10 years. I'm still and 80's child rocking out to the big-hair and power chords.

Bought it at Guitar Center. I'm wanting to say it was around $550, but that was too long ago to remember exactly. My Peavy TrailBlazer amp was stolen, so I needed a replacement. My wife said to go big or were not replacing the old one.

All the different sounds and tones that come out of it are amazing. My old Peavy had just clean or distortion. This one... I don't think I've been through all of the tones yet!

When you first turn it on, the built-in tuner doesn't work. It reminds me of an old tube TV, when you first turn it on, it has to warm up before it works. Once the amp has been on a while, the tuner works fine. Also, in that first couple of minutes, the tones seem to be really muffled. Again, once the amp's been on for a little bit, everything sounds fine.

Quality seems ok. No buttons have quit or anything has stopped working. Ok here!

This is a great jam-band amp. Whether your scorching leads or playing rythym for the shredder, it will make you sound better than you really are.

This little amp is nice priced and convenient amp. Much like the 75 watts it retains most of the features from the original amp modeling amps that line 6 starting making years ago. Now they have updated it to the modern times and it sounds not have bad. The tones of this amp I like a little better than the original Spider amps that I was previously used too. Line 6 has upped their tones in these new amp models with better tonal response.

Spider II 15 packs six Smart Control FX including, Phaser, Chorus/Flanger, Tremolo, Sweep Echo, Tape Echo, and Reverb. All effects can be easily tweaked and delay times can be adjusted using tap tempo. Pretty much the same as the spider 2 only with a couple more options and basically the exact same tone.

I have always had a problem with amp modeling since they don't sound anything like a real amp. Don't get me wrong this unit will not sound like a real amp. But ti will get you in the ballpark of how they should sound. This amp is not designer to rival real tube amps but give a learner or beginner a great start at learning the electric guitar.

I like this amp with just about any guitar. Since it is a modeler you can use a Fender Strat for some blues or clean tones and switch over to a Les Paul or another humbucking style guitar for some rock or metal tones.

This is fun little amp for practicing and that is about it. You are never going to gig with this amp or probably never record with it. You might get laughed out o the recoding session. However, it really wasn't intended to be that.

OVERALL OPINION


This amp is not longer in production and has been updated in a newer model. You can find it on the used market for under $299. This amp is marketed a the beginning guitar player who needs an amp with a load of effects and options. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone trying to start a band or responding to a craiglist ad looking for a guitar player with a lot of sounds. So for the learner player this would be fine.

SOUNDS

This amp is extremely versatile, can play any type of style, the clean pure distortion Mesa Recto. I plug in a Gibson SG Standard is, is happiness. I am very open musically and I play different styles, from blues to metal and this amp is a true companion scene!

I want to say that with a decent set, you can reach the Mesa in part (of course!) But the result is very imprssionant, honestly tried!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 months, I have intermittent and this little sound machine allows me to play in several styles with only one amp! It really is happiness, I recommend it to anyone who like me is not confined to a single type of sound.

What I like is the sound, versatility, power, and what bothers me is the price of the Line6 pedal ... But ...
I have had many previous Marshall (TSL 100, MG 100 DFX, IMG Stage Line), but typed too much like her ... but excellent in its field.

Here, I strongly recommend to test in real conditions.

7 effects (chorus / flange, delay, phaser, tremolo, echo ...) and a reverb. Ability to combine 3 effects at the same time

over 300 sound settings (by artists or songs based on famous). Some of these presets are far from the original sound tracks (eg, Shine On You Pink Floyd ... or Sunshine Of Your Love Eric Clapton).

I do not put a 5 because of the connection too light for my taste.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use and quite intuitive. The manual is short enough. There's no two buttons either. And the manual is especially critical for 3-4 "hidden" functions that you could not find it without. There are some errors and it would have been nice if Line 6 had put a few pages to describe these models (like the POD X3 manual for example).

The settings are easy to use and this amp gives a fairly diverse range of sounds. on the other hand, it is in sound that this amp is much more boring. And now I'm really mixed. Well, it's only a few days but I have much for a good sound for blues or metal, it's easy to find. To believe that it is essentially made for this. For warmer tones, then it's harder.

SOUNDS

For a blues sound in general also warmer, then I spent a few hours without success. Santana to play, it is frankly not suitable I think. It does not suit my style of music. And if I did not win, I would not have bought. But thank you for this gift to Line6!

I have an Ibanez SA160 (Ibanez pickups very average) and a Lag Roxanne (EMG liabilities). Plugged into my POD X3 Live, output still hear the difference. But through the amp, the difference (on the same settings of course) between these two guitars is much less obvious.
This amp far too smooth sound and these sounds are overall pretty cool.

Hepathus to answer you, although I have not spent hundreds of hours, I do not see how with this amp I can have the warmth and grain of a good tube amp. But if you have some advice, I'm interested ... Becaufe then the difference, I do and then some!

The sounds he is still good and varied (12 amps and effects 7). But out of my POD X3 Live, it is redundant and especially it is not at all to the sound I want. Still hesitate at the note. It is cold and a little too smooth sound. We do almost the difference between various guitars (I did say almost!). So the average is its main flaw in my eyes. And the models are not as good as the POD X3.

OVERALL OPINION

Only 4 days so far and I think I will not use it very long as it is too far from the sound I want.

What I like most: 2 Celestion 12 ", his look (he of the mouth anyway!) And it looks solid. And then I won it so it's still pretty cool c!
What I like least: the sound a bit too cold and smooth, absent the effects loop and a single entry for a stereo ...

The price / quality ratio (I saw it was € 450) is correct since it is still a good amp and 150W please.

But if I had to buy it, then no. I made an amp with a warmer sound, certainly a lamp (even a bit more expensive!)

This seems rather line6 sounds suitable for metal (these models are excellent I think). I also think that's what Line6 is seen as the artists who recorded moults presets (John 5, Slipknot, Ash, etc ...)

I put a 6 because it is still a good amp but it is not suitable for all sounds. And the models are not among the best.

SOUNDS

There's something for all tastes, including through the presets (+ 400) so it should suit anyone, from clean sound hot metal shredder (I love the red insane witness). I play with a Squier Start and it sounds great, I strongly esp my!
Thanks to the various witnesses on the first knob, it gets all sorts of sounds while being able to modify them to your sauce thanks to the other knobs, including the effects.
I love the effects especially the witnesses present and metal and insane tearing. Otherwise the "twang" green light is simply sublime. A good clean sound and warm.

OVERALL OPINION

I had this amp Christmas but I was already familiar with Line 6 because before I used a spider III 15 watts.J have already been around a bit and it's effects genial full potential. Otherwise this amp is impressive, it has a super gueule.J love the simplicity of use. A little heavy anyway ^ ^ (23 kilos). Extra value for money especially since I've had nine to 300 euros instead of 450.
And this choice I would do without hesitation
