Maximum power: 60W

- 21 digital effects (10 pedals, 5 modulations, delays 3)
including Wah, the Acoustic, the octave, various distos, flanger, phaser, chorus, and delays ...
- 32 Preset memory
- Built-in tuner!
UTILIZATION
The configuration is simple: the high number of buttons / knobs / switches multifunction application learning time.
However, the manual is very well designed Vox, and you will understand and fully exploit your AD60VT!
Easily obtained a good sound, with any setting ... but it takes time to find her.
This amp is definitely not plug and play, but it looks worth its settings (it offers so many possibilities).
If you have the opportunity to use it with a pedal VC4 or VC12, you get the most opportunities for this war machine!
For having the VC4, I can assure you it was like the happiness tuning fast and quiet, violoning effects with volume pedal and shift mode Wah-wah, change presets on the fly without plop / beep , etc ...
SOUNDS
At the time I started, I played the Black Desire, a lot of Nirvana, Sweet Dreams of Mr. Manson, a little Led Zeppelin and the Offspring ... Vox Valvetronix AD60VT and responded quite well to my "needs".
What kinds of sounds can we get?
Arrrrghhhh! It would take too long to detail all!
The possibilities are really HUGE!
To summarize: one clean sweep of the purest jazz, to the saturation snarling hard-rock, to heavy crunches energetic.
It rakes very broad, like the 16 amps (including Fender Blackface, the Vox AC15/AC30, the Marshall Plexi, JCM800, the Soldano SLO 100, Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, etc. ...).
You want clean slamming, glassy, thin = it does
You want the big crunch, dirty, on the verge of explosion = he does
You want a decaf espresso = it ... ah nan, that it does not!
Well, joking aside, the HP 12 "Celestion Custom Voiced was a little too rich bass, but you could easily change it to a V30.
All the sounds were very good, even excellent, apart from the large modern disto higain were too compressed for my taste.
Most sound level:
- Enormous versatility
- High quality modeling and effects
- Sound heat
The - his level:
- Lack of momentum compared to a real tube amp
- Modeling higain modern enough compressed
Guitars used at the time: Cort Z-42, Teisco Spectrocaster, Vigier Excalibur Indus.
OVERALL OPINION
A little bit of history!
The AD60VT is for the Blue series (with the VTX AD120VT and their respective version) of the Vox Valvetronix: this is the first to be output, and the most famous. Production ceased around 2006, to benefit the Black Series (AD15-30-50-100VT and hi-gain versions XL), less expensive, but with fewer opportunities. Note: the current bear the name Valvetronix VT15-30-50-100.
This amp is ideal for those seeking an amp to do everything, whether in private or in concert, whether for jazz or big fat rock.
It is good in almost all areas (but with a predominance for sounds Vox-Fender-Marshall), which allows to form an idea of the different amps before turning to a more specialized amplifier.
The Blue Series is the only one to accept the VC4 and VC12 pedal, which can have several sounds under the foot, and to control the Wah and Volume pedal through.
I used my AD60VT apartment for 2 years without ever disturbing the neighbors, and the sound was really good in this volume. I am fully satisfied, except higain.
I sold to buy a preamp ENGL E530 Modern Rock, guidance modern / higain, but much less versatile (chorus, flanger, and VC4 I missed terribly at the beginning!).
Most:
- Many models, many of the effects of good quality, versatility
- Its very hot with HP 12 "Celestion Custom Voiced
- VC4 very functional footswitch with expression pedal
- Change sounds at the base with the VC4 or VC12
- Comprehensive connectivity
- Switch-1W-15W 30W-60W, easy use in apartment
The -:
- Hp 12 "medium quality, the receiver would have deserved better: hp is easily changeable
- Lack of momentum in relation to a real amp "all tube"
- Do not achieve large distos hi-gain modern limited to hard rock
- A lot of possible settings, hence its complexity to find a desired
- Price new: € 600-700 at the time
The nine value for money is pretty average, but occasionally to 250-300 €, it is a good deal.
I would do this choice?
Now that I forged my musical tastes: no.
But it's a great amp musicians hands-on everything, looking for a quality Swiss-knife.
