KRK Ergo

I Ergo 3 months.
Tried anything else in Paravant.

The large volume knob is very pleasant to use, although a bit light.
it's still plastic. I would have preferred something that makes heavier hand qqchose metal for example.
I appreciate the headphone output and the ability to connect multiple pairs of speaker system.

I found the acoustic corrections rather small, almost imperceptible to my room.
My home studio is a single room of 15 m² untreated, but it is not a cathedral, a shed, or even a cellar. There's still the BA13 on the walls and carpeted floors.

I find it very unfortunate and almost unfortunate that KRK has no curves measured room response.

The Ergo is nevertheless comes with a measuring microphone, the software takes measurements, calculates and corrects the speakers, but I do not even know the defects of my room.
No action is presented via the computer interface.

I do not think it's very honest, because as I say, for my part, after correction changes are not obvious.
KRK lack of transparency in this regard in its concept.
Nothing proves to me that the corrections are reliable.

The software could provide me the answer of my room before correction, with a graph that would show me the response peaks and introduce myself after curve correction.

In addition, I would also like to treat my room accordingly. But I did not response curves. I'll have to use a specific software.

It makes a huge difference in perceived sound. The price is relatively high, but if you want converters that have the look of it is to be expected. The sound is definitely better balanced corrected and more accurate stereo. I had great difficulty in mastering in my studio before, it is set. Coupled with KRK RP10-3, I mean everything! What is nice is that it can serve as both an audio interface or filter after the existing one. The quality is much better when used as an audio interface (a single conversion DA) Only problem, its connection is firewire ... as I drive with Windows, firewire is unstable. On my laptop, I can run both WiFi and Ergo ... misery! 90% of the time, so I use it in another configuration.

Purchase two days ago, I downloaded the latest driver.
The installation took me 4 minutes by my watch!

And there I was pleasantly surprised! I replay a dozen different mix to fully understand me and what happened there ... Well ... any defects that I found on other plays have focused on my speakers! That is, my room was sorely lacking in serious ... Since the medium is adjusted down, listening is thus:
- More balanced
- More Detailed
- The spatialization is much better.

From a usability point of view, is fairly basic: a large button (precise) for the speaker volume, a wheel on the right side for the headphone volume ...

Focus button / Global can see the influences of patch, it is, it allows you to compare before and after calibration.

So I put a small problem with this system ... I tried the stand alone mode with SPDIF and I have a very slight buzz on my speakers when in FireWire I do not! It is present at very low volume but it bothers me, I can not stand this ... It is not present in the headphone. So I guess it comes from the stabilized power supply provided with the ERGO, I'll do a test by replacing a power supply not better.

I have not tried other model before buying it ... I have read the opinions of the purchase.

The pros:
Patches really useful (even essential) for a home studio
The sound quality and robustness of the system
The hergonomie

Instruction in English only
Buzz Light in SPDIF (but I think it comes from my system ...)
Some incompatibilities between FireWire devices on Windows 7, you must properly configure default devices - but nothing blocking

The ratio Q / P is very good especially in occasion! € 350 for, no matter where you mix his tracks, a sound similar.
It cost considerably less expensive than acoustic panels 10aine ugly and bulky.

With experience, I would do probably this choice but it is difficult to say after 12 hours of use ...
This is obviously a very good product.
