All user reviews for the DigiTech Studio S400

Modular. CPU power is up to leave a quarter of a block of 8, or 4 quarts over two half, or 4 quarts, 1 half, 1 full, etc.. fourth block offers very simple style echo effects 370m, prdelai, early reflections, reverb mono, phaser, flanger, detune, Pitchshifter, or 2WAY chorus, a band of parametric EQ, etc.. Each block has 6 to 12 parameters to be set.
with half-block or blocks around there are more choices (stereos reverbs, chorus 3-5WAY ...) but we can not so take advantage of 4 inputs and 4 outputs.

2 LFO and twelve o'clock variables can control the total maximum eight parameters among the variables of the blocks / demiblocs / quarter unit (eg cutoff frequency of the LP of the analog echo quarter block n1) is a fair bit but it's enough in most cases.

There is no automatic adjustment of the tempo echo noon, but we can control the echo time with a MIDI controller (type regelbank, modulation of the master key value or cubase)

UTILIZATION

It's complicated but I actually waited a bit.
Finally got used to it quickly and it becomes quite logical to use, but a bit tedious when working with 8 quarts block (only one button to move between the blocks).
Brief settle so many things with so few buttons could have been worse.

SOUND QUALITY

The reverbs are top, a little cold, ps very natural.
The rest is very good.
For the price it's really correct.

OVERALL OPINION

Here is what

Effects provides: nice reverbs (Room, Flat, halls, orchestral, gate delays ...), transparent, fine delays "analog" (rglage the damp), tap tempo button for delay and reverb: super live!, Harmonizers Smart (SETTING THE range), Leslie superb chorus until 4-way (I have not seen elsewhere ..) flangers ditto, ditto phasers, detune, pitch shifter, compressors, gates, equalizer until 6 paramtriques bands or bands carrment paragrahique 2x31 (but there remains the power for something else: it's more a dmo power of using a bte concrte ) ...

The bbte is powered by 2 processors S disc (1 single on the studioquad), which explains the power of 4 channels.

Connecto pro jack and XLR-10db and +4 db: it fits everywhere!
Option card AES / EBU (single cable is sufficient to adapt gnralement SPDIF).

UTILIZATION

The factory presets are great.
For programming, a request Ceratina a technical level, because we ACCS All parameters of each effect. So it's long program ...
Gnrale Ergonomics is good, but the routing inflexibility, forcing adapt to routing configs block effects pr-configure.

SOUND QUALITY

It sounds much more expensive than its price (see: www.george.shilling.com/Reviews/digitech400.htm). The reverb is superb, not much envy Lexicon and TC, but a demand for the program to fit the context, may therefore be a little more work.
On vocals, drums, acoustic instruments, it is nickel.

OVERALL OPINION

I used live and in studio. Live, it can track a group by bringing with you its effects: no surprises, no making head fit a little known multi-effects, especially effects carefully tailored each piece ( tempo> pr-time limit of reverbs, etc.).
It's a good working machine, temperatures requiring good technical skills.
