UTILIZATION

This is not the original Digitech Whammy; it is the 2nd generation unit. The first is the distinct red pedal with the "whacky" font, so it is the pedal everyone knows and recognizes. The first pedal was the pedal that was reissued, albeit with an additional midi port added.

However, THIS pedal, the II - THIS is the pedal that should have been reissued. It may be a sleeker look, a bit more non-descript, but there is one feature this pedal has that the other Whammy pedals do not have - FOOT CONTROL OF PRESETS! The other pedals require one to bend down and turn a knob in order to change a setting. This is a major annoyance onstage, as one should have to bend down to adjust on a minimal basis. The Whammy II allows the user to scroll up each of 12 presets, one per click. Also, 2 favorite presets can be saved to toggle back and forth between, so one wouldn't have to clickclickclickclickclickclickclick to get to the preset that's needed for a new song part.

SOUND QUALITY

This pedal is incredible. It is quirky, in that it really only likes single notes to be played through it for full fidelity. A single note, with the unit on shift mode, will make a smooth portamento as one sweeps through the rocker pedal. Adding in multiple notes, ala a chord or arpeggio that rings out, will make the sound become a bit garbled, but in a really unique and cool way. Other pedals now will do full polyphonic chord shifting, and that is a nice feature to have, but I like the quirkiness of this Whammy II pedal.

OVERALL OPINION

This is the best of the old-school Whammy units, by far, just because the presets can be selected with the foot instead of the hand. Otherwise, it's functionally the same, and I happen to like the sleek black cosmetics of this pedal. Recommended.

Mine date of May 1996 if I remember correctly, for fans like me Morello or Satriani.

Mollet "level" on the front very dangerous, because the proper balance can easily cruncher to death with an amp if pushed a little too much enthusiasm ....
The bye-pass is anything but thrue because the rate of "level" remains functional when the pedal is "off"
Ability to record two effects by pressing the "toggle" and switch from one to another by the same key, very very very handy!

UTILIZATION

Using very simple, even a whelk or a can of tuna to arrive, the button "select" down the list of effects when pressed to achieve the desired effect,
the "toggle" is used to select an effect when pressed more than one second and then to register a second to switch between the two with a single tap of the foot, really useful!
Cete after small operation, your imagination with the expression pedal, super slide effects, quite progressive at the beginning of the race and all the gear is accelerating very quickly

SOUND QUALITY

Excellent effects, respect for the gentlemen of Digitech, very good job
Note all of even a slight breath and sometimes a little shrill whistle if one selects an octave or two even when the effect is off, but you have to strain to hear it.

UTILIZATION

The configuration is very simple
and I think that sincrement whammy has the most practical of the market for two reasons:
1) The toggle switch that allows mmoriser 2 presets (frankly, utilistaeurs whammy of 4, you have not tired of you down every 5 minutes to turn the wheel? For the two whammy, no one can ONLY use of memory but if you do not DSIR can navigate foot quietly good I must say all of the same, for that which does not know it, there is a washer pvc aptly named e the "whammy wheel" which fits on the button to change the presets, but it changes nothing, there's no memory!)
No need to book.
2) It is small, cute and discrte. It does not overload the pedal board and pedals when you have 12,000, this argument is significant.

SOUND QUALITY

The effects are effective and trs practitioner.
on the other hand, if you have the ability to cre a loop specially for the purpose, I highly recommend it. Indeed (hh), the "bypass" is hideous and you have a good scratch and a good amp lamp, you will not have long to hear how it sound dnature clear position on or off, hear the dry sound with pedals triggers or not. Suffice it then to let the effect permanently connected in the loop (I had the master switch and power supply boss for years and I use it more, well it rpar and ask her brain to remember that this is the button that triggers the loop effect pedals and not the same it, and eventually return.
So this indeed an exceptional sound quality (the same Canadian plant that manufactured the WH1 so I think the sound is the same, I could not compare) as that is when the is not in use it dnature the original sound of the guitar pedals that either activates or not.
So drivation ESSENTIAL.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for two months and I love it, it sounds good and it is beautiful and human, as it has default.
What intrigues me is that Robert Fripp who certainly rig as tar as I saw (and double plus) uses the MODEL! It is the only pedals pedals of his rig because the rest of its effects is controlled by the Rocktron MIDI or other pdaliers galore (I invite you to watch video of Fripp invited by the sound designer of the interface vista is the one who made the new sound architecture with them, it's funny that's the only argument that I would tip for vista, I have the address but if you type you will find Robert Fripp vista)
So I thought, even when it's a crazy guy like Robert Fripp that all racks and effects etc etc of the world and is a requirement to continue to use this crazy MODEL (without looper and more) the risk of compromising the quality of its clean sound (with distortion is less teacher, because compression comression eh!) Goddammit!
More srieusement, if you can the true bypass pedals with a looper (I know it chaint to add pedals to use a different pedals) you will be delighted and whammy I do.
In addition it is a pretty girl (no enhancement in the photo) has a form of spaceship darkvadorienne (yes on cots) that I prfre a big pat who has a face Ferrari (though I like the tricks the eye tape, trve of subjectivism)

9 So the "not true bypass"

it's a harmonizer digitech of expensive. model is a mystery to the whammy that deserves to be a bit more ...
everything has been said below, I will not dwell on that.
conection: one in, two out: one normal and one for connecting to a tuner for example.
a volume knob for the effect, cons, it is not disabled when you bypass the effect, which means we keep the volume of the pedal and not the amp. that's not cool. but it is not death
the holding of these two favorite settings is a great idea! more than the wheel on this whammy 1 and 4 is replaced by a switch that prevents the foot to be down and killed my back.

UTILIZATION

Setup is simple: you choose what kind of effect you want (+ 1 octave octave/-1 etc ...) and module while saddled with the expression pedal.
the manual is in English but not really necessary.
there is no editing to do. is connected and it plays!


SOUND QUALITY

Then, I use it on LOW.
the party harmonizer is very effective on all the strings (I am granted Dropped D). we have a great sound. for a party whammy effects octave/-1 tone are very good, + 2 octaves and marrent to make are completely dégantés. on the other hand, the -1 and -2 octaves are unusable. the sound is stifling and disappears altogether in the sub bass. they become inaudible (we agree more play). I recommend using the first mode of the harmonizer to play an octave lower with the unprocessed sound.
integrated with the chorus pedal is really beautiful. cranked it is very deep and become whirl. on the other hand it is not very versatile.
then, in the chainnage, it goes: Boss CE-5 === === + morley volume vpo Sansamp GT-2 (in time distortion) === === noise gate whammy === === Other effects === noise gate delay.
dear me, she can do that a noise, like static electricity, I put it in the loop of the noise gate and it disappears. dear me, the bypass is not a crock. it makes noise when it is activated. it should depend on the gear and wiring the pedalboard.
to play the tool (justin chancellor uses a whammy bass) is really great! coupled to a fuzz, a wah and delay sends it for solos!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 6 months.
I like: harmonizer modes which are exellent, the shape of the pedal (compact and the appearance of a special vessel) the + 1 octave, chorus, mode -1 tone, tuner out.
I Witness: modes -1 and 2 octaves, unusable on low, the volume knob still off, little noise when it is connected.
the ratio Q / P is very good, although a bit expensive for all those little flaws.
Finally, it is a model whammy assai rare and hard to find, so we will say that is the price.
with experience, I do it again this election, although it is I occasionally buy a bass whammy.
in conclusion: Basseux, they're looking for a whammy mode or +1 octave harmonizer, go for it! on the other hand, this is for you to use octave, go your way.

The Digitech Whammy II is a unique pedal that is a pitch shifter and has a detune option (which is like a chorus) and numerous harmony options. It is an analog effect and has a 1/4'' input and both 1/4'' wet and dry outputs. It has a bypass switch and is not a rackable effect.

UTILIZATION

This was really easy to set up - simply plug your guitar or other instrument into the input and send the wet output to an amp. The manual is very helpful for getting some sounds you might not have thought about on your own.

SOUND QUALITY

The pitch shifting effects on this pedal are truly great sounding on guitar. I love shifting up or down an octave and can make for some crazy effects. While I have not used it myself on keyboards, I did lend this pedal to a friend who used it a lot with his Yamaha Motif and said he loved using it with that. The detune option is also a great sounding chorus-like effect.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had this pedal for about two years. My least favorite thing about it is that it isn't true bypassed and does color the sound a bit when bypassed. However, unlike the newer models of the Whammy, this has a button that you can bypass the sound, something that comes in handy when you want to bypass the sound but have no free hands. I've used both the original Whammy and the reissue and while I wish the Whammy II had a bigger foot pedal like the others, the sound quality is quite comparable and the bypass switch really puts it over the top for me.
