I have not tried but the person who bought it tried both models in the store before buying the LP 209 (DELUXE). There is a standard LP208, and LP4240 metal, which must have a different sound.
Great instrument, which is a kind of rhythmic rattle with the sound off gradually.
Features: There has not really say that wood and metal, it is beautiful in addition to sound good. Oh yes, you can adjust the sound with a wing nut that locks the metal thing on the arm: it loosens a little, and you can turn the thing (the soundboard wood inside which are all small metal parts that vibrate) to change the sound.
Value: ben for me it was free, so ... A famous German site selling instruments by correspondence, there are different models of this instrument of € 11.70 (first prize, store brand) to 42 € (model metal in LP). Mine is located in the upper part of the sampling. The video does not do well with the sound, it was made with a camera rapidos. We'll do better later.
With experience, I would keep because it has nothing to do with a sample, you can modulate, stop the sound, do some nuances.
