UTILIZATION

Well, it's a overdrive, but the possibility via the 5 internal trimpots are quite numerous.
The English manual gives a range of examples of the types of sound feasible (Tube Screamer, Marshall vintage modern etc. ....) It's clear, but in practice, levels of internal trimpots are not easy to identified as small knobs, manipulated with a small screwdriver, are mounted on a printed circuit board.

In groping and Assayas, we always end up finding how the knobs interact with each other. That said, I could easily find some configurations.

SOUND QUALITY

Sound, because ultimately this is what we run after all, is the reason for buying these little boxes.
The TS 808 is bleuffant mode, and although I did not buy the Super Sport Barber in this perspective, if I ever decide to no longer use it, it will serve me anyway Tube Screamer, but with an undeniable : we can give a more or less shiny, dull, with more bass. I would advise taking it for almost anyone looking for a tube screamer.

I have not tested all the other modes because I was looking for an especially good rock overdrive, and it is done by pushing the potsTone particular shape. In rhythmic lead as it has a grain very authentic. It is not very transparent and is pretty loaded in medium, even when they are at a minimum. You have to love, but the midrange products they are silky and well balanced. However it very much respect the character of your equipment. His level, I put 10 because it lies in what is best in mid-gain overdrive. I prefer the BB Preamp Xotic that compresses more and is much more colorful, and which also fits under any gear. This is one of the great qualities of the Barber pedals: they sound on almost all types of amplifiers.

OVERALL OPINION

Well, I've had it for 2 months and also a Barber LTD SR, I can say that Barber makes some very good stuff at very good value given the quality of gear. Situated on a scale that ranges from 110 to 160 euros depending on the dollar, pedals Barbers offer an excellent alternative to more common brands like Boss, Ibanez, T-rex, Maxon, TC electronic, Xotic, MI Audio or Fulltone. There are of course better, but it is generally more expensive.

Unfortunately, Barber is not distributed in France, and must be ordered via the U.S. or Belgium via directly at them, what I did and what takes a little time (five weeks in my case). But it was worth it.

Whether it is for blues, rock and pop, The Barber Super Sport delivers sounds convincing, adapts to your gear, responds well and is versatile. Marshall typed in the old, new metalheads go elsewhere. For others, I recommend to consider this brand.
