Overdrive in its simplest form.
Level / tone / drive settings as only
Note: the plug to the power supply sector is the standard Boss: cool
The boi-box looks very solid but the knob is looking a bit cheap (should not start from the 15th floor) ... € 40 but hey ...
UTILIZATION
- The general configuration is it simple?
yes
- Publishing of sound effects or is it easy?
the level has a rather unbelievable headroom: I am to 9 am (2 or 3 of 10) for a balance between the bypassed and switched
- The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
No manual: there's no need
SOUND QUALITY
- Effects are they effective, responsive and realistic enough?
I have in my possession a Boss OS-2 (overdrive distortion) and a Danelectro overdrive Fabtone a Boss overdrive yellow € 60 (I can not remember the reference). Compare:
• Boss OS-2 (overdrive distortion): The boss has a possitive od grain less warm and more "evil".
• Fabtone Danelectro overdrive: the default (I think) of the Fabtone is its tone: 10 it seems to be a boss 5: Belcat with no problems on that side: 10's same limit screaming. 7 / 8 is a good compromise! In addition it has a level of "saturation" higher is better for me
• Boss overdrive yellow to € 60. The belcat has more saturated, the grain is more fun
- Which instruments do you use?
see list of my gear to my Profile
on the other hand I think it sounds better on the ibanez (shovel sauce 335) on the Telecaster
- Which ones you prefer, you hate?
OVERALL OPINION
Finally an overdrive that sounds and does not cost € 100! In addition it is more versatile than any other. We can go all the grain in a nice big fat white-hot overdrive.
Construction not seem to be made to last 50 years but when you see the price and it is understood, we say we will take care of.
