UTILIZATION
Ultra easy!
SOUND QUALITY
plain and simple a priori, but in the end and after operation: excellent!
OVERALL OPINION
I will not dwell on the purely technical aspect of this pedal is not the least of which has been discussed very explicitly on this forum.
I prefer to approach a description on the essential terms of sound sensations that gives this little gem "Made in France" I must admit I did not expect at all to find this pedal in a tone that seemed at once my well suited to the Blues.
What is the guitarist who seeks "sound" that will give new life to his guitar playing, which is not the guitarist who has tried all kinds of rack effects, stompboxes, amplifiers for end up each time with a good feeling just to make "not bad" but in fact translated exactly, "is good but it does not stand out in an exceptional view of all market products !
You will agree, we remain mostly with this thought "this is seen, seen, done and redone"! Clearly, it is above all the artistic talent of your game that you will have a very pleasant tone to exploit, but there will always be a little more than a physical standpoint that will make your sound will be ennobled at fair value, the guitar, amp and effect! The digital age is no exception to the rule of lures and technology we have at least learned one thing: It always comes back to guaranteed once thought obsolete! The current paradox is that today would Mountains m2 of lamps to give the current output of a digital machine, in contrast, requires mountains of algorithmic and ultra powerful processors to "look" without as the match, a digital sound to analog sound of a small effects pedal, and we are not speaking of lamps which provide a sound light years ahead of the digital realm! And so there are those like BENROD cultivate this philosophy and who think that there are still many worlds that have not been operated in the analog scale, and I must tell you how right they are!
These you design something based on a well-established technological culture but making the little extra that will ultimately challenge your esgourdes a rather peculiar way!
This pedal in a technological apparent simplicity hides a terrible sound efficiency, and equally remarkable for its simplicity of sound parameter changes made by the three knobs, tone and overdrive level! The true analog warmth is to go and I really appreciated the true bypass which distorts the sound of any guitar. In addition there have been no hum or buzz, a near-silence
something very valuable! The drive lets the guitar breathe and gives it that little extra that makes a big sound that will be able to deliver! it sounds, big sounds and affectionate especially creamy smoothness by Buesmens, which does not preclude use of other musical worlds in which it behaves with ease! The various possibilities are usable sounds with ease! Insert into or live in the amp but it sounds pleasantly different from both sides!
After trying a multitude of drive over recent years, I finally found the product that suits me! Tested on two amp, a vox ac30 and a Fender Deluxe, with four guitars:
fender stratocaster american, jazz Ibanez, Epiphone sheraton 2, lespaul ibanez 70's, with a slight preference for the grain type lespaul who reacted very well this pedal!
The strat is not left to be expressed through the classic screamer, it gives it a character very 'Rican "especially in the mid / high ..
Overall we can evoke a very good performance!
Advertising claims of the mark are really up to the product and the price is well below the quality provided when we know at what price to sell allegedly vintage pedals!
I must also say that I am proud to have bought the stuff of French music!
So I think if BENROD ventures into the design effects such as compressor, wah wah, and many others, this will no doubt through a real chalenge that will result (dare I gladly imagine) a great success!
