Reiep « Klone made in Europe »
Published on 05/07/14 at 02:37Overdrive pedal, faithful replica of the legendary Klon Centaur. Program: buffered pedal, with adjustable volume, tone and gain, supplied 9V center negative. Compared to an original Klon is much smaller. Given its horizontal format I would have appreciated the inputs / outputs on top.
The pedal is made in England and the quality is quite decent, no noise when you turn the knobs, everything is fine.
UTILIZATION
With only three knobs and a switch is not more complicated
Especially since some use of Klon (e) for their buffer, so keep the pedal off without worrying about settings. For those Fredric sells the buffer without the rest of the pedal.
To return to the Zombie Klone difficult to fault this side. Like all Klon (e) the gain is used sparingly in just completed with a lot of breath.
SOUND QUALITY
In my humble opinion the Klon (e) are best used as a clean boost with the gain low and the volume high enough. It's nice to give a little sparkle to a sound a bit flat. I do not like for once against the gain exceeds 9.
The versatility of this pedal is more of a torque buffer / clean boost that the race of the gain knob. So basically it sounds great, but on a limited interval.
OVERALL OPINION
It's been several Klone I try and I realize that all sound the same or nearly so, with all the same qualities and the same lack of a sound point of view. It's more a choice of quality construction, or design options that will guide the end user.
The Klone Zombie is no exception to the rule and I especially chosen due to its original size and manufacture in Europe. No surprise level, it is a Klone.
Seeking a Klone can already turn to the EHX Soul Food, which is a Klone on an industrial scale at a ridiculous price.
